The Somerset chase got off to a roaring start with Will Smeed in top form. He might have been dismissed in the second over but Billy Root dropped a chance on the square leg boundary. Smeed was to take a full toll after this opportunity. The only wicket to fall during the Somerset powerplay was that of Tom Banton. But Smeed together with Kohler-Cadmore took the game away from Glamorgan and by the time a breakthrough was achieved, the game was all but over with just a few runs required to run a ball. Gloucestershire

In another encounter between Gloucestershire and Sussex yesterday at Bristol, the Sussex team managed to register a win by a solid margin of 7 wickets with as many as 40 balls to spare. Batting first the Gloucestershire outfit succeeded in reaching a score of 140 runs all out from their stipulated overs. the Sussex team chased this modest total easily with 7 wickets to spare. The left-hander Harrison Ward hit a fifty for Sussex to propel them to an easy win over Gloucestershire. The Gloucestershire batting was put under the skid earlier by Aristidis Karvelas with a 4-fer for 20 runs.

The overseas player Grant Roelofsen was the leading run-getter for Gloucestershire scoring 41 runs for them. The last wicket partnership between Tom Smith and Matt Taylor realized 31 runs to add some kind of respectability to the score. This was 7th loss for Gloucestershire from 11 games and it ended Gloucestershire's hopes of reaching the quarterfinals of the competition. The Gloucestershire team was relying on their left-handed batsmen to take advantage of the shorter square boundaries at the venue. Roelofsen looked good for a while and looked all set for a half-century but he fluffed the lines by cutting Shadab Khan straight to the point fielder. Roelofsen got 41 from 27 balls and was involved in a good partnership with Price that realized 50 runs. None of the Gloucestershire batsmen could convert their starts into a big score and apply enough pressure. Price scored 19 runs before hoisting Shadab to George Garton as the hosts quickly slipped to 78 for 5 in the 11th over of their innings. Clark and Ward while starting the Sussex innings prevented Gloucestershire bowlers from getting early breakthroughs with an opening wicket stand of 83 runs from 6.4 overs.
