Goa played their last game in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy competition against Punjab. Batting first in this game, Punjab managed to score 169 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. The Goan management will be expecting a better overall team performance from the bowlers and batters. Their bowlers did a reasonable job of restricting the opposition. But the batting order collapsed barring the efforts of Ishaan Gadekar and Suyash Prabhudesai. Their batters kept losing wickets regularly and there was no substantial partnership built during the Goa innings. You can bet on Ishaan Gadekar to do well again in this game and expect bowlers such as Shubham Tari to pick up more wickets.

Saurashtra

The Saurashtra batting order will rely on bowlers such as their skipper Jaydev Unadkat, Yuvraj Chudasama, and Dharmendrasinh Jadeja in this game. Some good all-rounders are playing in the team such as the wicketkeeper-batsmen Harvik Desai and Sheldon Jackson. Some other all-rounders in the squad are Chirag Jani, Prerak Mankad, and Samarth Vyas. The Saurashtra team is going into this game with a couple of wins in their last couple of contests. They succeeded in winning their last two games against Andhra and Arunachal with good margins.

Saurashtra played their last game in the competition against Andhra winning it by a margin of 7 wickets with 14 balls to spare. This Group C game was played in Ranchi and the Andhra team succeeded in putting 152 runs on the board for the fall of 9 wickets. Saurashtra batters picked up the challenge and managed to win the game in the 18th over with as many as 7 wickets to spare. Dharmendrasinh Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers picking up 3 wickets for 14 runs for Saurashtra. He also bowled economically and this makes him a tough competitor in this game as well.

Other bowlers apart from Jadeja who made a good contribution in this match were Jaydev Unadkat, Chirag Jani, and Yuvraj Chudasama who picked up 2 wickets each. The Saurashtra batters were right on target to achieve this target right from the outset. Their openers put together 83 runs for the first wicket. Tarang Gohel scored 45 runs from 23 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes while Harvik Desai hammered 81 runs from 51 balls with 13 fours and 2 sixes. These openers pretty much sealed the issue for Saurashtra.
