Mizoram

Mizoram hasn’t had the best of times this season and with just 1 win in 6 matches, it is already eliminated from the race to the knockouts. Nevertheless, the team will look to end the season on a high and create a major upset by defeating the reigning champions.

Agni Chopra will be the key batsman for Mizoram in this match. He is the top run-getter for his team with 228 runs and has scored 2 half-centuries in his last 4 outings. However, he has received very little support from his opening partner, Lalhruaizela. Jehu Anderson, Lalthankhuma, and Mohit Jangra have all got some good starts in the middle order but have failed to capitalize on them.

Jangra has done a decent job with the ball, picking up 7 wickets so far. He will feature in the seam department alongside Lalhruai Ralte and Remruatdika Ralte. KC Cariappa is the leading wicket-taker with 8 wickets and will bowl in tandem with Vanlal Remruata in the middle overs. 

Mumbai

Mumbai is the defending champion for this season and had a brilliant start to the season. The team won each of its first 5 matches and was sitting comfortably at the top of the Group A table. However, the team lost its match against Hyderabad on Wednesday and that must be giving some nerves to the players.

With 3 teams vying for the top 2 spots, Mumbai will have to win this match by a big margin to give itself the best chance of making it through to the playoffs.

Mumbai has a strong batting line-up and will depend on them to deliver the goods the way they have for most of the season. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shivam Dube are all in good form and will look to take on an average bowling attack from Mizoram.

Jaiswal is in particularly good touch and has scored 2 half-centuries in his last 3 outings. Sarfaraz Khan, who was among the top scorers for Mumbai last season, has struggled with the bat and the team will want him to get some runs under his belt in this match.

Coming to the bowling, Tushar Deshpande is once again having an excellent season. He is the leading wicket-taker for Mumbai with 17 wickets. He will start the attack with the new ball alongside Mohit Avasthi. Shams Mulani and Tanush Kotian make up for an excellent spin attack and the duo has picked up 26 wickets between them.
