ZIM vs IRE Match Preview

The Ireland and Zimbabwe teams provided yet another close game earlier today. But this time, it was the turn of the Ireland team to come out on top with a win. It was a terrific stand between Curtis Campher and Harry Tector that turned around the match for Ireland during their batting effort. Mark Adair and George Dockrell put up the finishing touches to take the team to a win. The Irish team did not get off to a good start as both their top batters, Andy Balbirnie and Paul Stirling, were picked up by Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani.

With some tight bowling, the Zim bowlers did an excellent job in the initial stages of the Ireland innings. They utilized the slower balls to good effect and made it tough to hit boundaries. But Tucker and Tector broke the shackles to take Trevor Gwandu for 18 runs while ending the powerplay on a high, paving the way for some momentum. Ireland profited in this game, with Sikandar Raza banned for two games. He has been suspended after an altercation with Josh Little and Campher.

After the exit of Raza, the Sim had to depend on their part-timers, such as Brian Benett and Wessly Madhevere. Benett brought Zimbabwe back into the game by picking up the wicket of Campher when the Ireland all-rounder holed out to the long on. The Irish skipper won the toss and decided to field first. Adair sent Marumani back with a first-ball duck. Then he bounced out Madhevere. The Zim total might have been even lower; however, Delany dropped Ryan Burl when he was 16.

These are the batters and bowlers both teams expect to do well again in the last and deciding game of the series. In the decider, the Zimbabwean team will expect Ryan Burl and Sean Williams to come good in the absence of Sikandar Raza. Ryan Burl and Richard Ngarava will also be responsible for doing well with the ball. Curtis Campher, Harry Tector, and Andy Balbirnie will take over the batting responsibilities for Ireland, and their bowling department will be in the hands of Mark Adair, Ben White, and Barry McCarthy.
