WI vs ENG Match Preview

The 4th match of the T20I series was played at the venue of Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, West Indies. England won this game convincingly to set up a series decider in the 5th game between the two teams. This day/night game saw England batting first to score 267 runs for losing three wickets in their quota of 20 overs. The West Indies batters made a valiant effort while chasing this target, but they were eventually bowled out for 192 runs from 15.3 overs. Phil Salt was awarded the Player of the Match award for his blistering hundred.

The English innings started on a great note, with Phil Salt and the skipper Jos Buttler putting together a 100-run partnership for the first wicket. They put together 117 runs from 9.5 overs as Jos Buttler was dismissed for 55 runs from 29 balls with three sixes and six fours. This dismissal did not affect the scoring rate as Will Jacks, and later Liam Livingstone continued the English onslaught. Livingstone scored 54 runs from 21 balls with four sixes and as many fours to remain unbeaten with a fifty.

Almost all the West Indian bowlers went for runs, and some of them for plenty. The three wickets to fall during the England inning were picked up by Akeal Hosein, Jason Holder, and Andre Russell. Kyle Mayers made an excellent start to his spell, but after bowling an over for just seven runs, he could not bowl more. The West Indies innings started with Brandon King being dismissed on the first ball of the innings for naught. Several West Indian batters, such as Nicholas Pooran and Sherfane Rutherford, got a start but could not convert it into a big innings.

The West Indians did not capitulate, though. They did put up a fight and lower the order. The resistance came from Andre Russell. He hammered 51 runs from 25 balls with five sixes and three fours. But there was little support available for his efforts. The pick of the bowlers for England was Reece Topley, who collected a haul of three wickets from 3.3 overs for 37 runs. Rehan Ahmed and Sam Curran also picked up two wickets each. All the six bowlers used by England were successful.

Weather Report

We are expecting some showers during the final game of the series. The weather forecast for the 4th match was also predicting wet conditions. However, this incandescent weather did not have much of an effect on the fortunes of the 4th game of the series.

Pitch Report

We have seen the series’ last three games putting together good scores. These first innings totals saw the team batting first go on and eventually win the game. But a freshly laid wicket might be utilized for this game. We are hoping for an entire game and a full entertainment, though.

Dream11 Prediction

The English team is on a roll now, and they will have the momentum on their side after the wins in their last couple of games. The West Indies team has squandered a solid lead and allowed the Englishmen back in the series. We will bet with England to win this game and pocket the series.

Top Picks

Nicholas Pooran: Nicholas Pooran has scored 356 runs from his last ten matches with an average of 35.6 and a strike rate of 161.81.

Phil Salt: Salt hammered a hundred in his last couple of games and will be the go-to batter for England again in this decider.

Romario Shepherd: Shepherd has picked up 11 victims from his last seven games with a strike rate 13.63.

Brandon King: King had to endure a first-ball duck in his last game. But he is too good a batter to let that bother him. You can bet on him to do well in this final match of the series.
