PC vs DSG Match Preview

The Pretoria Capitals have lost both of their matches so far and are placed at the bottom of the points table. While there are still plenty of matches to be played, the team will look to bounce back here to get its first points.

The Capitals have batted well in both matches so far, even crossing the 200-run mark in the last match. However, that hasn’t nearly been enough as the bowling has been rather ordinary. Phil Salt and Will Jacks will look to give the team a strong start here.

Salt was in particularly good touch in the last match as he scored 39 runs from 31 deliveries. He will however need to convert them into a big inning. Rilee Rossouw is the key batsman for the Capitals. He has played well in both matches and is the leading run-getter for the team. There are some explosive batsmen lower down the order including James Neesham, Theunis de Bruyn, and Colin Ingram who can play the role of a finisher.

As mentioned earlier, the bowling has been rather ordinary so far. Daryn Dupavillon is the leading wicket-taker with 3 wickets but has gone for close to 10 runs per over. Similarly, Adil Rashid, Eathan Bosch, and James Neesham have all given away runs at the rate of 8 or more, and have failed to pick up wickets at regular intervals.

The Capitals will need to bowl a better line and length to get back to winning ways.

In a complete opposite to the Capitals, the Durban Super Giants are in excellent form so far. The team has won each of its 3 matches and is sitting pretty at the top of the table. Matthew Breetzke and Quinton de Kock will open the batting for the visitors in this match.

While Breetzke has got a couple of good starts, de Kock’s struggles in the shortest format continue. Nevertheless, some excellent performances from the middle order have helped the team score thumping wins over the opponents. Heinrich Klaasen has smashed 2 half-centuries in his 3 innings and has received excellent support from JJ Smuts and Nicholas Pooran.

The team also has plenty of depth in their batting thanks to all-rounders like Wiaan Mulder and Dwaine Pretorius. The Super Giants have one of the strongest pace attacks in this tournament. Richard Gleeson is the leading wicket-taker with 5 wickets, while Pretorius and Reece Topley have picked up 4 each.

The spinners, led by Keshav Maharaj, are equally impressive. Maharaj has 4 wickets against his name, while Smuts has picked up 3.

Weather Report

While it has been raining in Centurion for the past couple of days, there is no forecast of rain here on Thursday. However, the weather will remain overcast throughout the day with temperatures of below 25 degrees Celsius.

Pitch Report

The SuperSport Park is a high-scoring venue and we can expect plenty of runs to be scored here. The pitch offers plenty of bounce and pace and the ball comes nicely onto the bat, allowing the batsmen to play their shots naturally.

The surface does get a tad bit slower in the second half so batting first will be a good option. The team batting first will aim for the 200-run mark.

That said, the bowlers who bowl a good line and length will be suitably rewarded.

Dream11 Prediction

We are backing the Durban Super Giants to win this match. The team has been clinical in its performance so far, winning all its 3 matches. On the other hand, the Pretoria Capitals are struggling at the moment and will find it difficult to bounce back against a quality opposition like the Super Giants.
