IND vs AUS Match Preview

The top-order batters did not perform very well in the previous match but they should do a lot better here. We are not losing faith with Travis Head or Shubman Gill yet. Gill (India's best ODI batter right now), Sharma, Kohli, and SKY form a very strong batting top order. SKY has yet to prove his credentials in ODI cricket but would you really bet against him eventually coming good? We would not.

Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Siraj are turning into one of the best white-ball bowling pairs in the world. They basically broke the Australian back in the previous match. They also covered up some of the weaknesses of the other bowlers.

We think Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, and Hardik Pandya can be vulnerable to attack, especially on surfaces where there is not much help.

Players like Travis Head, Steve Smith, and the big-hitting all-rounders will all enjoy the surface in Vishakapatnam. This is the perfect opportunity for Australia to try and showcase its batting strength and go hard from the start. Steve Smith also looked in tremendous touch before getting out. Mitch Marsh also scored a big one and that could leave David Warner in a bit of a precarious position.

Mitchell Starc bowled beautifully in the previous match getting the ball to shape back. He was by far the best of the Australian bowlers although Sean Abbott and Marcus Stoinis had their moments as well.

Weather Report

There has been some rain in Vishakapatnam and there is a chance we may see some rain during the match. High humidity with temperatures in the range of mid to late twenties (centigrade) are expected.

Pitch Report

The pitch at this venue is generally very good for batting. The average score batting first is 265 with 387 (scored by India against West Indies) the highest score here.

Notable stats

Gill's Golden Run

Shubman Gill has scored three centuries, been 40 not out once, and was dismissed for 20 in his previous five ODI innings. Every time he comes out to bet he looks like getting some runs and we think he could continue to make the most of this period in his career with another big score.

Team News

Rohit Sharma is likely to replace Ishan Kishan while Australia has a tough question to answer with David Warner also nearing full fitness.

Dream11 Prediction

We are going to continue to back Australia in this contest. We think they are being undervalued and the odds being offered on them are quite attractive. It is obviously a risk to bet against India in India but that is the name of this game. We see a lot more value in betting against the home team. With a strong and powerful batting lineup, Australia is more than capable of causing an upset.

Top Picks

Shubman Gill - On a surface that is expected to be good for batting, Gill with three centuries in his previous five innings is a must-have in any Dream11 team. We are going to make him the vice-captain for our team.

Travis Head - Another player that is hitting a new level in his career, Head scored 152 against England just two innings back. He also had another 80 in that series. With some runs in the Test series behind him, he could prove to be a valuable differentiator in the Dream11 lineup.

Steve Smith - There was something about the way that Smith was timing the ball in the previous match that makes us very wary. He could be loading up for another big one like the 132 he made against India in the previous ODI series that he was here.
