After a whirlwind start to the campaign, the Sunrisers Hyderabad have finally been grounded last week as they suffered back-to-back losses.

The chinks in the middle-order batting have started to emerge for the SRH. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma did much of the heavy lifting during the Sunrisers’ incredible winning run. However, the duo hasn’t been able to give the team a similar start in the last two games.

SRH will need the likes of Aiden Markram, Nitish Reddy, and Anmolpreet Singh to shoulder some of the scoring responsibilities. What is clear to see now is that the performances of the opening pair put the opposition so far on the backfoot that the middle-order often got away easy.

Pat Cummins and T Natarajan have bowled well to pick up 23 wickets between them and the economy rate is under 10 runs per over. However, the same cannot be said about Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Jaydev Unadkat, who have often been expensive. 

SRH's bowling has been average without being outstanding. T Natarajan with his ability to hit the yorkers is the only real player that has been consistently dangerous. 

Rajasthan Royals

The Rajasthan Royals are going through a purple patch at the moment. The team has won 8 of its 9 fixtures and is sitting comfortably at the top of the points table. Another win here will make sure that RR becomes the first team to make it through to the playoffs.

Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal make up for a strong opening pair. They will once again look to give RR a strong start. The team’s biggest success lies in the performance of the middle-order batsmen. Sanju Samson has scored 4 half-centuries in 9 innings and has received excellent support from Riyan Parag, who has 3 against his name.

There is some quality batting coming in lower down the order in the form of Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmeyer, and Rovman Powell.

With almost every batter in form, RR has a problem of plenty right now and would be tempted to shift things a bit just to test itself.

Yuzvendra Chahal is the pick of the bowlers with 13 wickets, while the seamers, Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma have done a good job with the new ball. Ravichandran Ashwin has struggled this season and has managed to pick up only 2 wickets. 

The re-emergence of Sandeep Sharma this season has added so much depth to the RR lineup and given them the freedom to play their strongest batting lineup.
