ENG vs IRE Match Preview
England did end up winning their opening match but they were far from convincing. Their bowlers did an excellent job to keep Afghanistan to a modest total before they chased it down rather easily. Even though the chase was easy, England and their fans would agree that they lost too many resources in the chase. They lacked application against the quality spin and that is something that Ireland and the rest of the teams will be looking to exploit going forward.
Ireland had a terrific run in the group stage as they knocked West Indies out with considerable ease. Just when they were looking to be peaking, they lost to Sri Lanka in a rather one-sided contest. They batting lacked application in the middle overs and that is something they would so desperately want to get right. While Ireland aren't a team as strong as England on paper, they have shown their calibre in the past.
Weather Report
There is a bit of rain in the air but we do expect match to start on time. DLS method might well come into the picture and both sides will be wary of that. For that particular reason, we are likely to see the team winning the toss to elect to field.

So far in the tournament, we have seen fast bowlers getting a lot of assistance in the first few overs. With surface likely to be green and there to be rain in the air, scoring will be difficult first up. A total of 160 could very well prove to be a winning score here.
