ENG vs IRE Match Preview

England is the clear favorite entering this contest and it is easy to see why. The team has become synonmous with aggressive cricket thanks to its Bazball philosophy. Ben Stokes has made it very clear that he is going to play the game with a view to advance it at all times.

We think the players to watch out for in this match will be Harry Brooks and Ollie Pope amongst the batters. Both of them have been in great form and seem to relish the red ball. Jonny Bairstow is returning from injury and could be a vital part of the batting lineup as well.

Among the bowlers, England is going to be without Anderson, Robinson, and Woakes. Stuart Broad, Matthew Potts, and Josh Tongue (making his debut) will lead the England bowling lineup with support from Jack Leach.

A number of Ireland's batters have scored runs in the warm-up matches before the Test match starts. Paul Stirling, Lorcan Tucker, James McCollum, and Peter Moor got big runs against Essex as Ireland won by 10 wickets. Harry Tector may not have got many runs in the lead up but he will still be the primary batter for Ireland in this contest.

Young, Hume, and Mayes were the bowlers that led the way for Ireland in the opening stint and may very well be the ones that end up doing the most damage in the Test. We think Young has a good chance of being the top bowler for Ireland in this match.

Weather Report

The forecast is excellent in London for the duration of the Test match. We don't think there are going to be too many interruptions and a result is all but guaranteed.

Pitch Report

We expect a flatter batting track than we are used to seeing at Lords. This would be in line with what the England captain has demanded for this summer to try and win back the Ashes.

A lot of runs, centuries, and big totals can be expected.

Notable stats

Happy Memories for Leach

It was a match-winning performance by Jack Leach as he opened the batting and scored 92 to help England come back from a massive first-inning deficit. We doubt he will be given the chance to do the same this time but he will be a player to watch out for.

Team News

England has already announced its playing eleven while Ireland is expected to not offer many surprises in the selection either.

Dream11 Prediction

England has a clear upper hand in this contest even without its two leading pace bowlers. We think this is going to be another occasion where the batting might of England flattens the opposition and allows it to win.

Top Picks

Harry Brook: The poster boy of Test cricket in England right now, Brook is averaging over 80 in his Test Career so far. His strike rate is also near 100. These are astonishing numbers and he could really tear into the Irish bowling attack.

Lorcan Tucker - Ireland will be hoping for a lot of runs from Tucker, similar to what he provided in the warm-up. He seems to have taken his game to the next level and is a player to watch out for.

Stuart Broad - Without Anderson or Robinson, it will be Anderson that gets the ball whenever the situation demands wickets. Perhaps at the end of his career, Broad is still hungry to prove he is an automatic selection.
