England
England is the clear favorite entering this contest and it is easy to see why. The team has become synonmous with aggressive cricket thanks to its Bazball philosophy. Ben Stokes has made it very clear that he is going to play the game with a view to advance it at all times.
This approach has seen it win six out of its previous eight Test matches. As a team, England is blessed with depth of talent that Ireland simply cannot produce at the moment. Also, the experience of having played hundreds of Test matches more than Ireland almost makes this an unfair contest.
We think the players to watch out for in this match will be Harry Brooks and Ollie Pope amongst the batters. Both of them have been in great form and seem to relish the red ball. Jonny Bairstow is returning from injury and could be a vital part of the batting lineup as well.
Among the bowlers, England is going to be without Anderson, Robinson, and Woakes. Stuart Broad, Matthew Potts, and Josh Tongue (making his debut) will lead the England bowling lineup with support from Jack Leach. Broad and Leach aside, this is a second-choice bowling attack for England but one that is still very talented and can be expected to make life tough for Ireland.

Ireland
Ireland is missing a couple of its first-choice bowlers for this Test Match but as the captain has already said, this is not their priority for the summer. Qualification for the two white-ball World Cup's on the radar is their focus and the team has been quite open about that.
A number of Ireland's batters have scored runs in the warm-up matches before the Test match starts. Paul Stirling, Lorcan Tucker, James McCollum, and Peter Moor got big runs against Essex as Ireland won by 10 wickets. Harry Tector may not have got many runs in the lead up but he will still be the primary batter for Ireland in this contest.
Young, Hume, and Mayes were the bowlers that led the way for Ireland in the opening stint and may very well be the ones that end up doing the most damage in the Test. We think Young has a good chance of being the top bowler for Ireland in this match.
We expect Ireland to play aggressively and maybe land a few blows but overall, we don't really see Ireland putting up a serious challenge to England.

Pitch and Conditions
The forecast is excellent in London for the duration of the Test match. We don't think there are going to be too many interruptions and a result is all but guaranteed. As far as the pitch goes, we expect a flatter batting track than we are used to seeing at Lords. This would be in line with what the England captain has demanded for this summer to try and win back the Ashes.
A lot of runs, centuries, and big totals can be expected.

England has a stronger batting lineup, a better bowling attack, and is vastly more experienced than the Ireland cricket team.
