BAN vs SL Match Preview
One of the big blows to Sri Lanka's preparations for the T20I series was the ruling out of Kusal Perera. Niroshan Dickwella will replace him. Asalanka will lead the Sri Lankans in the first couple of T20I games due to the suspension of Wanindu Hasaranga. Charith Asalanka was the vice-captain originally in the Sri Lankan squad. Lankans have also brought in the in-form opening batter Avishka Fernando to replace Pathum Nissanka. Nissanka suffered an injury in the series against Afghanistan.

Vandersay has played a T20I game almost two years ago. He will provide a cover for Hasaranga, who will not be available for the first two matches of the series. Other significant contributors to the team are Maheesh Theekshana and Dhananjaya in the spin bowling department.
Shakib Al Hasan will not be playing in this T20 international series. Mahmudullah will replace him in the squad. Shakib has developed an eye condition that will keep him out of the T20I squad for the home series against the Lankans. Mehidy Hasan Miraz has also been left out. Other significant exclusions include Shamim Hossain, Hasan Mahmud, Rony Talukdar, Tanvir Islam, and Afif Hossain. In their places, we have Mohammad Naim, Taijul Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Mahmudullah, and Anamul Haque on the side.
The Bangladesh selectors have brought the mystery spinner Aliss Al Islam in the side. He played for Comilla Victorians in the Bangladesh Premier League and earned a call to the national team based on a good showing. Mahmadullah is returning to the national team after a gap of over a year. He hit a couple of half-centuries for Fortune Barishal in the 2024 edition of BPL. However, he has been a regular member of the ODI team for Bangladesh.
