WIW vs ENGW Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Dec 17, 2022

WIW vs ENGW Match Prediction - Dec 17, 2022

England’s Women's team will be looking to clinch the T20 series as it takes on the West Indies Women’s team on Saturday of the 3rd of the 5-match series.

The English Women are yet to be defeated in this tour and are highly unlikely that the West Indian team will be able to reverse that trend going forward. The odds on offer for an England win are very short and punters will have to look to place side bets to gain some decent returns from this game.

WIW vs ENGW Team Previews

West Indies Women

The English team has been pretty clinical in their performance on this tour. After whitewashing the hosts in the ODI series, they now lead the 5-match T20 series by 2-0 and need just one win to claim the trophy.

Natalie Sciver and Amy Jones were the top run-getters for England Women in the ODI series but they haven’t yet got a chance to shine in the T20 series. Opener Danielle Wyatt has been pretty good at the top of the order scoring 79 runs in 2 matches, including a half-century in the first match.

She has found good support from her opening partner, Sophia Dunkley and together they have provided England with a solid start in both matches. Charlotte Dean was the top wicket-taker in the ODIs and bowled a brilliant spell of 3-22 in the last match to rattle the West Indian batting line-up. Lauren Bell has picked up wickets in both matches so far and has 5 wickets against her name.

Overall, most of England Women’s players are in excellent form at the moment and will be looking to continue with their winning momentum.

Hayley Matthews, Aaliyah Alleyne, Shemaine Campbelle, Afy Fletcher, Cherry Ann Fraser, Shabika Gajnabi, Sheneta Grimmond, Trishan Holder, Kycia Knight, Karishma Ramharack, Rashada Williams.

England Women

The West Indies Women’s team is ranked 6th in both, ODI and T20s but hasn’t performed to their potential in this series. Despite facing a relatively inexperienced English side in the second T20, they suffered yet another defeat to continue their misery.

Asked to bowl first, the West Indies bowlers bowled a tighter line compared to the first T20, making the English batters work hard for their runs. Hayley Matthews was the pick of the bowlers, picking up 3 wickets for just 15 runs from her quota of 4 overs. West Indie tried as many as 7 bowlers in this game and managed to arrest England at 141, which seemed quite gettable on the Barbados pitch. However, they lost wickets at regular intervals and in the end fell short of the target by 16 runs.

None of the players within the team appear to be in good form and given the deep trough they are in right now, West Indies will find it very difficult to make a turnaround.

WIW vs ENGW Toss Prediction

The team winning the toss is likely to opt to bat first.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at Barbados is an excellent one to bat on, and the bowlers are unlikely to get any help here. A total of around 150 can be considered to be a par total but given the poor form of the West Indian team, any total above 135 will be difficult for them to achieve.

The conditions are expected to be clear and sunny but quite humid. The temperature will remain around the 30-degree mark.

WIW vs ENGW Betting Tips

There is only one team to back here and that is England. The contests so far have been severely lopsided, and looking at the odds offered by most betting sites, it makes no sense to bet on West Indies at the moment. The English team appears far superior in every aspect of the game and we strongly back them.

Bet on an England Women’s win.
