West Indies U19

West Indies played their opening match against the hosts, South Africa, and were outplayed in all departments. They will now look to bounce back and get their first points of the tournament.

It was an ordinary batting effort from the top order as the visitors set out to chase a stiff but gettable target of 286 runs. At one stage, West Indies were 5 wickets down with just 73 runs on the board. Jordan Johnson was the only batsman from the top 4 to reach the double digits.

Wicket-keeper batsman Jewel Andrew played a scintillating knock of 130 to save the team from an imminent collapse and helped the team reach a respectable score. More will be expected from the likes of Adrian Weir, Stephan Pascal, and Joshua Dorne.

Nathan Sealy put up a good all-round effort, scoring 33 runs and also picking up 3 wickets. He will once again lead the spin attack alongside Tarrique Edward. The seam department consists of Nathan Edwards, Deshawn James, and Isai Thorne. 

Scotland U19

Just like the West Indies, Scotland has lost its opening fixture and is searching for its first win.

The Scottish team was completely outplayed by neighbors England in their first ODI. The team faced a heavy defeat that has left a dent in their NRR. Nevertheless, Scotland will look to take some positives from the match and put up a better show in this game.

Jamie Dunk was in good form in the opening slot as he struck 40 runs. However, he received little support from his opening partner, Adi Hegde, who was dismissed for 3, while Bahadar Esakheil was dismissed for a duck. Skipper Owen Gould will be another batsman to watch out for.

Just like the batting, the bowling too was underwhelming, to say the least. Ibrahim Faisal was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets. Ruaridh McIntyre will lead the attack with the new ball and will be supported by Qasim Khan, Mackenzie Jones, and Logan Briggs.
