Surrey

Surrey has shown excellent form in the last few weeks as it won 4 consecutive matches since the start of this month. However, its winning streak was broken by Hampshire in their latest encounter. Nevertheless, Surrey is currently at 14 points, and a loss here will likely slip its NRR below that of Essex, throwing them out of the top 2.

All-rounder Will Jacks and Laurie Evans will be looking to give the team a good start here. Both of them fell cheaply in the match against Hampshire and the team couldn’t recover fully from those early blows, leading them to put a modest total of 124 before being bowled out in the 20th over.

The middle order relies heavily on the performances of Jamie Smith, as well as all-rounders Sam Curran and Sean Abbott. Jamie Overton and Tom Curran played nice cameos in the last match and will be expected to perform in a similar fashion here.

The bowlers had a terrible time in the last match as only Gus Atkinson was able to take a wicket. He now has 10 wickets and will lead the pace attack along with Sean Abbott, Chris Jordan, and Sam Curran. The team is a bit lacking when it comes to spin as Sunil Narine is the lone specialist spinner. 

Glamorgan

Glamorgan made a good start to the season. But 3 losses in the last 4 matches mean that the team now finds itself in the 5th place, trailing the top 2 by 4 points. With just 5 matches more to go, the time is running out fast for Glamorgan to recover.

Prem Sisodiya and Kiran Carlson are expected to start the proceedings with the bat here. Carlson hasn’t been consistent so far and has failed to play a big inning despite getting some good starts, while Sisodiya, who has been promoted from the middle order, has downright struggled.

The injury to Colin Ingram has dented the batting line-up's strength and there will now be added pressure on Chris Cooke to perform. He will be looking for support from Sam Northeast, Billy Root, and Timm van der Gugten.

Jamie McIlroy, who has taken 15 wickets so far, will lead the pace attack along with Ruaidhri Smith and van der Gugten, while Peter Hatzoglou and Andrew Salter will be seen with the spin.
