St. Lucia Kings always had an experienced team to work with and it was pretty surprising that it took them three matches to notch up their first win. Now that they have tasted success, they would want to grow further and move up on the points table and in the reckoning.

 

As it currently stands on the points table, they are placed at the fourth spot with two points from three matches. Another win here will bring them back into the contention and that is exactly what they will be aiming for. They have a net run-rate of -0.395, which they would like to improve as well. A win here will push them a spot further up on the ladder and that is exactly what they will be aiming for.

 

With some of the veterans of the format available at their disposal, St. Lucia Kings have one of the most experienced sides of the competition. Tim David and David Wiese came to thei rrescue in the last match and a lot will depend how they play at the lower-end of the batting unit. At the top as well, they have the experience of Johnson Charles, Niroshan Dickwella, and Faf du Plessis.

 

All in all, they have a pretty good side paper but haven't really executed things as per the plan. They have a strong leader in Faf du Plessis and will be itching to get his side to winning ways. If the Kings are able to make amends and play to their on-paper potential, getting past them could prove to be incredibly difficult.

Barbados Royals have undoubtedly been the best side of the tournament up until now and they will want to ensure that it stays that way. Another couple of wins hereon should put them in a pretty good position to qualify for the next round and they would want to get the first of those here in this match.

 

Not only have they registered wins, they have done so with pretty good margins and that is visible in the net run-rate they have at the moment. As it currently stands on the points table, they are placed at the top with six points to their name and a net run-rate of 3.348.

 

With experience and firepower available right throughout, Barbados Royals pretty much have all their bases covered. The likes of Kyle Mayers, Quinton de Kock, and David Miller have been phenomenal at the top. Also, the presence of versatile all-rounders add depth to their batting unit without taking a lot away from their bowling.

 

Talking about bowling, they have Oshane Thomas, Obed McCoy, and Hayden Walsh as specialists, who all are known for their exploits in T20 Cricket. All in all, they have been brilliant up until now and will be confident of producing another terrific performance. If they do not get complacent here and are able to play how they have, getting past them would certainly be a steep climb.
