HBHW vs BHW Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Nov 04, 2023

Although the Hurricanes started out badly with two losses, they’ve since turned things around with three impressive victories in a row. The Heat might be top of the table and looked great with four straight wins, but it’s clear the team is human after all, as they lost recently to the Strikers by a big margin of 59 runs.

Hobart Hurricanes Women vs. Brisbane Heat Women will be played at Bellerive Oval, Hobart, on November 4th. Don't forget that all the best betting sites can be found here.

HBHW vs BHW Team Previews

Hobart Hurricanes Women

The Hurricanes are starting to prove everyone wrong and are turning into a quality team.

There’s no doubt that much of the Hurricanes’ success is thanks to star batter Villani, who has been playing out of her mind with 159 runs (132.50 SR). She’s yet to score below 39 runs and is incredibly consistent, but we hope she’s capable of a big half-century. Lee is very useful with 134 runs and Stalenberg is chipping in with 98 runs. We’re not at all impressed with Smith (15 runs) or Graham (45 runs) in 5 games, but let’s see if they can improve.

The bowling is a bit up and down when it comes to Hobart, but we like the performance of Strano with 6/100, as she’s proving capable of keeping opposing runs low. Ismail is at 4/130 but we feel she can do much better than this. Graham is equally bad with bat and ball, as she’s given up 157 runs for only 2 wickets (9.81 ER).

Hobart Hurricanes Women Playing 11

Elyse Villani, Lizelle Lee, Bryony Smith, Heather Graham, Nicola Carey, Naomi Stalenberg, Ruth Johnston, Hayley Silver-Holmes, Molly Strano, Amy Smith, Shabnim Ismail.

Brisbane Heat Women

It’s hard to fault the Heat right now, as a 4-1 record speaks for itself, but are they invincible? Time will tell.

Harris is leading all scorers with 257 runs, although she’s not scoring big in every match to be fair, as she had one giant match with 136* and then her next best is 49. Opener Redmayne is a bit of a surprise with only 65 runs, and she’s scored only 16 runs combined in her previous three matches. Voll has been solid with 112 runs, but du Preez and Jonassen haven’t been so reliable with 67 runs each.

The Heat’s bowling is certainly quite intense, as is Jonassen looking especially good with 9/148 (7.40 ER). Glenn and Sippel are decent with 6 wickets each but are giving up too many runs. The most disappointing bowler so far is Hancock, who has stats of 5/139 (8.59 ER).

Brisbane Heat Women Playing 11

Grace Harris, Georgia Redmayne, Amelia Kerr, Mignon du Preez, Charli Knott, Jess Jonassen, Georgia Voll, Bess Heath, Mikayla Hinkley, Nicola Hancock, Courtney Sippel.

HBHW vs BHW Toss Prediction

From 34 WBBL games here, 17 have been won when bowling first, so it’s very balanced on this pitch. Bowling first is still the most likely option.

Pitch and Conditions

The Bellerive Oval wicket is a bit slower than other pitches, which is great for batters but the unhurried pace can cause confusion. It’s a fairly balanced pitch but first innings scores are around 150 runs. Expect slightly cloudier, colder conditions in Hobart.

HBHW vs BHW Betting Tips

It might seem unusual, but we actually like Hobart a lot in this match. The 10Cric odds are really good for the Hurricanes and now’s the time to bet on them. Hobart has won three in a row and Villani and Lee are playing outstanding cricket. Strano is also a quality bowler and Ismail can do better.

The Heat are strong, but if Harris has a bad game, then we’re not sure if they can rely on Redmayne, du Preez, or Jonassen. Voll is one to be careful of, but we think that Hobart can beat this team on their home soil. The hype is real; Hobart is coming for the title.

Bet on the Hobart Hurricanes to win.

There aren't so many options, but Villani is still the one to choose. Her odds are actually quite good and there's a decent return to have, and she's certainly in form with no score below 39 runs this season.

    Hurricanes Best Bowler: Molly Strano

Strano has been getting better each game and she should do well on her home pitch. She's great at limiting opposing runs and can get 2-3 wickets per game. Her total of 6/100 will only get better with more playing time.

First Innings: Grace Harris Total Over 23.5

Even though we think the Hurricanes will win, it's hard to deny that Harris is a great batter. She's a tough scorer and has scores from 136* to 49, so we think that 23.5 is a reachable target for her.
