Goa

Goa has undoubtedly proved its mettle in this competition thus far after winning their last couple of matches. In their last contest, they managed to record a convincing six-wicket victory over Manipur. Batting first in this game played in Ranchi, Manipur managed to score 122 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. The Goan outfit was right on the money during their chase. They reached the target easily for the loss of 4 wickets in 16.2 overs. It was a resounding victory by Goa with as many as 22 balls to spare.

The pick of the bowlers for Goa during the Manipur innings in their last game was Shubham Tari. He picked up 2 wickets for 14 runs while Arjun Tendulkar also managed to collect a haul of 2 wickets for 27 runs from his 4 overs. As many as 6 bowlers were used during the Manipur inning and all of them succeeded in getting wickets. Other bowlers apart from the opening ball bowlers such as Darshan Misal and Vikas Singh also picked up a wicket apiece and bowled with economy rates of less than 4.

The Goan inning did not get off to a good start. They lost an early wicket of Rahul Tripathi. But after the early loss, other batters such as Ishaan Gadekar and KV Siddhanth were involved in a good partnership for the second wicket that realized 53 runs. Although the Goan outfit lost a few important wickets later on, they were never in danger of losing the game due to the solid second-wicket partnership. They reached the target easily in the end for the loss of just 4 wickets. 

Gujarat

The Gujarat team has succeeded in winning their last couple of games against Saurashtra and Arunachal Pradesh this year. The last contest against Saurashtra was also played in Ranchi yesterday. The Saurashtra team batted first in this day/night affair. They managed to raise 122 runs for the loss of 6 wickets from 16.2 overs. It was a rain-curtailed game and Gujarat was asked to chase 105 runs from 12 overs according to the VJD equation. Gujrat managed to reach the target easily in the end in 10.2 overs.

The Saurashtra team got off to a reasonable start but their innings seemed to skittle away later due to some excellent bowling by Gujarat bowlers such as Chintan Gaja, Ravi Bishnoi, and Piyush Chawla. All of them picked up a couple of wickets each. Ravi Bishnoi more specifically was also economical apart from picking a couple of wickets. The other bowlers used by Gujarat were not successful. Bishnoi returned with excellent figures of 3-0-6-2. He will once again be a threat in this game against Goa.

The Gujarat inning got off to a good start and their top-order batters were in good nick during their inning. The top run-getter for Gujarat was Umang Kumar with 35 runs from 18 balls with 3 sixes and 2 fours. The chase for Gujarat was concluded by Aarya Desai who hit 28 runs from 17 balls with 2 sixes and 2 fours. These batters will once again be the ones to watch out for in this game against Goa. Umang Kumar remained unbeaten to the end and ensured that there was no unwarranted drama during the inning.
