However, the Afghanistan batters succeeded in reviving their innings mainly due to the efforts of Mohammad Nabi. Nabi was involved in a 79-run partnership with the opening batter, Sediqullah Atal. However, Atal was not in good form. The agony for Atal ended when he was run out after scoring 35 runs.
Nabi scored 59 runs from 38 balls, and it was left to Rashid Khan to hit some big blows towards the end to take the score to a respectable 152 from twenty overs. Ireland made an excellent start to their chase and were 49 without loss at one stage. Nangeyalia Kharote broke this partnership. Rashid Khan then picked up four wickets to restrict Ireland's batting charge to 142 runs. Afghanistan won the game and leveled the series 1-1. Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi will again be Afghanistan's go-to bowlers in the series decider.
