Both these teams are going into this game with a loss in their last encounters. Railways had to endure two losses in a row in their last couple of games. Andhra played their last match of the season against Saurashtra in Ranchi. They batted first in this match to raise a score of 152 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Saurashtra was pretty effective in their chase as they succeeded in chasing the target within 17.4 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Saurashtra managed to win with 14 balls and 7 wickets to spare.

The Andhra innings got off to a good start in this match with both Srikar Bharat and Ashwin Hebber contributing to the score. The skipper scored 23 runs and so did Hebbar. However, the real impetus to the Andhra innings was provided by Shaik Rasheed who hit 62 runs from 39 balls with 3 sixes and 5 fours. It was thanks mainly to this effort from Rasheed that Andhra succeeded in reaching a score of 152 runs. After the Andhra opening partnership was dismissed there was a procession of batters from the other end.

The Andhra bowling attack was immediately put to the sword by the Saurashtra batters. The pick of the bowlers for Andhra was Cheepurapalli Stephen who picked up 2 wickets for 48 runs from their 4 overs. Although he was successful in picking up wickets, he gave away far too many runs. The only other bowler to do well for Andhra was Manish Golamaru who picked up a solitary scalp. The only Andhra bowlers that bowled reasonably economically were Tripurana Vijay and Ashwin Hebber with economy rates of 5.33 and 6.00. 

Railways

Railways also played their last game in the competition in Ranchi against Gujarat. Batting first in this game, Railways put together a score of 149 runs all out from their 20 overs. Gujarat succeeded in chasing down this score in 15.1 overs with 8 wickets to spare. They made light work of the Railways bowling attack and went on to record a solid win. The Railways bowlers will have to pull up their socks to do well in this game against Andhra. The Railways innings got off to a disastrous start and they were quickly reduced to 29 for 6 in 7.2 overs.

The wicket-keeper batsman for Railways, Upendra Yadav scored 64 runs from 47 balls to add more respectability to the score. He smashed these runs with 3 sixes and 7 fours. Akshay Pandey and the skipper Karn Sharma also scored some runs towards the end of the innings to take it to 149 runs. Akshat Pandey scored 33 runs from 26 balls with 2 sixes and 3 fours while Karn Sharma hit 29 from 14 balls with 2 sixes and 3 fours. All these batsmen will need to contribute good runs during the upcoming game against Andhra.

The Gujarat batting was right on the money in their reply with all their top-order batters doing a good job with the chase. None of the Railways bowlers could make much of an impression on the Gujarat batting. The only two bowlers that succeeded in picking up wickets were Rahul Sharma and Karn Sharma. Rahul Sharma bowled economically to pick up a solitary scalp for 17 runs from his 3 overs. The opening bowler Yuvraj Singh also bowled economically. All these bowlers have to bowl well in this game to contain Andhra.
