Yashasvi Jaiswal to score Over 26.5 runs
Jaiswal is the leading run-scorer for RR this season and has an average of 43.90 in 11 matches. He has scored at least 27 runs in 5 of his last 6 outings, including 4 half-centuries. Seeing his good form, we are backing him to play a good inning here.
Highest opening partnership KKR
We expect KKR to put up a bigger opening partnership in this match as Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been rather inconsistent this year. On the other hand, Sunil Narine and Rahmanullah Gurbaz have plenty of experience and as they are playing on home turf, they could give KKR a strong start.
The Kolkata Knight Riders will look to strengthen their place on the points table as they take on the Rajasthan Royals this weekend. The two teams will face off on Sunday afternoon at the iconic Eden Gardens stadium.

The two teams have faced each other in 30 matches to date. Both sides are almost evenly matched with KKR winning 15 and RR winning 14. 1 match was washed out without any result.

The incumbent champions haven’t been in the best of forms this season and have managed to win only 4 of the 10 matches they played. They are currently placed 7th on the points table, trailing the top 4 by 3 points. With only 4 more matches remaining for then, KKR will have to treat each of them as a must-win encounter.
The Kolkata Knight Riders will depend on its strong middle order to deliver in this match. Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi are in decent form and are the top two run-scorers for the team. The opening pair of Sunil Narine and Rahmanullah Gurbaz have given the team a couple of brisk starts but KKR need at least one of them to stay on and play a big inning.
While Rinku Singh has played some impressive cameos, KKR needs the likes of Venkatesh Iyer and Andre Russell to bat better as both of them are averaging under 21 runs. Coming to the bowling, Varun Chakravarthy is the team’s leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets. He has received good support from Sunil Narine.
Harshit Rana, Vaibhav Arora, and Andre Russell will feature in the pace department and have picked up 31 wickets between them.
Kolkata Knight Riders Expected Playing 11
Sunil Narine, Rahmanullah Gurbaz (WK), Ajinkya Rahane (C), Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Venkatesh Iyer, Andre Russell, Varun Chakravarthy, Harshit Rana, Vaibhav Arora, Rinku Singh, Rovman Powell
The Rajasthan Royals haven’t had the best of times this year, managing to win only 3 of the 11 matches they played. With their latest loss against MI on Thursday, the team has been officially knocked out of the race to the playoffs.
The opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi need to give the team a strong start in this match. While Jaiswal has been pretty consistent throughout the season, Suryavanshi hasn’t. After scoring a historic century against Gujarat, he was dismissed for a duck on Thursday.
While there are plenty of experienced batsmen in the middle order like Nitish Rana, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, and Shimron Hetmeyer, none of them have been able to change the fortune of the team. The inconsistencies continue in the bowling department as well.
Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma have managed to pick up some wickets but have also been expensive. The two spinners Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga have picked up 10 wickets each but they too haven’t been able to control the flow of runs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Nitish Rana, Riyan Parag (C), Dhruv Jurel (WK), Shimron Hetmeyer, Jofra Archer, Maheesh Theekshana, Kumar Kartikeya, Akash Madhwal, Fazalhaq Farooqi
Half of the last 10 matches played here were won while batting first, while the other half were won while chasing. In 9 of those games, the captain winning the toss opted to field first. However, we feel that batting first could be a better option here.
Eden Gardens has hosted some high-scoring games this season, with the average first-inning score being over 200 runs. The surface is flat and has some grass covering, allowing the ball to skid and offers a good pace. The boundaries aren’t the longest as well. However, the pitch could slow down a bit and the spinners who aim for the dry patches will get some help.
The weather in Kolkata has been cloudy and it has been raining here as well. With more rain forecast for Sunday, we could see some delays or even a shortened game.
We are backing the Kolkata Knight Riders to win this match. They haven’t been in form but have played much better compared to the Royals. Rajasthan’s bowlers haven’t been accurate this year and that could cost them the match.
KKR vs RR win percentage stands at 59% in favor of RCB.
