SRH vs RCB Match Preview

The batting has been a big disappointment for SRH and their woes continued in the last match as they faced yet another top-order failure. Despite having some quality players in the squad, including Abhishek Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Harry Brook, and Rahul Tripathi in the team, the Sunrisers haven’t been able to get going.

At this point in the season, we would not want to put our money on any of the SRH top order batters. Rahul Tripathi has had such a poor season that he may find himself out of the Indian team as well.

The only saving grace for them has been the performance of Heinrich Klaasen, who has played consistently well lower down the order and has a couple of half-centuries. He is an excellent player of both pace and spin.

Talking about the bowling, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar has been impressive in the last few matches and also picked up a fifer in the previous match.

He will be supported by Marco Jansen, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and T Natarajan in the seam department, while Mayank Markande and Aiden Markram will be seen during the middle overs.

Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis gave the team yet another brisk start, and have once again proved that they are one of the best opening pairs this season. After the departure of Kohli, Glenn Maxwell continued the good work as he stitched a 69-run partnership with Du Plessis for the second wicket to put up a strong base.

Everyone knows this by now but the facts cannot be changed. RCB needs its top-3 to fire if it has to have a chance.

The middle-order batting woes continue for RCB as Mahipal Lomror and Dinesh Kartik failed to perform with the bat yet again. But a good cameo by Anuj Rawat ensured that the team put up a good total. This lack of quality in the batting group could prove to be very costly.

The bowlers were brilliant in the last match as they bowled out a strong RR batting line-up for just 59 runs, which is the lowest total by any team this season.

While Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel remain the mainstay of seam bowling for RCB, Wayne Parnell bowled an excellent spell in the last match. The spinners, Karn Sharma and Michael Bracewell picked up 4 wickets between them and will be looking to continue with the good work here.

Siraj's powerplay performances and Parnell's cutters could be crucial in this match against SRH as well.

Weather Report

The weather is expected to be dry and warm with temperatures of over 30 degrees Celsius.

Pitch Report

The pitch at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium is flat and dry. There isn’t much grass on the surface either and the ball will come nicely onto the bat. A score of between 170-180 can be considered a par score here. The spinners will be able to get some turn as cracks and rough patches develop.

Notable stats

Virat Kohli’s Consistent Batting

Kohli has been a consistent performer for RCB at the top of the batting order. In his 12 appearances, he has scored 6 half-centuries and a total of 438 runs at an average of 39.82. There will be questions about his strike rate but in a Dream11 contest (or other fantasy contests), consistency is very valuable.

Team News

There are no updates regarding injuries from either side.

Dream11 Prediction

We are backing the Royal Challengers Bangalore to win here. They have a big incentive to perform well here as this is a must-win encounter for them. They have been much better on the field when compared to their hosts for the day. Also, the Sunrisers have an extremely poor record at home this season.

Top Picks

Faf Du Plessis: Du Plessis has been in sublime form with the bat this season and is the leading run-scorer of the tournament so far. He has scored a total of 631 runs, including an incredible 7 half-centuries in 12 innings.

Glenn Maxwell: Known for his explosive style of batting, Maxwell has lived up to his reputation this season. He has scored 384 runs at an incredible strike rate of 182.85 and has also scored 5 half-centuries in the process.

Heinrich Klaasen: Klaasen has towered above the other SRH batsmen and has been one of the key performers for his team. He can be quite destructive with the bat in the death overs.
