SRH vs PBKS Match Preview

The batting has been the biggest letdown for SRH as they have managed scores of 131 and 121 in the 2 matches that they have played. The top order has failed to fire as the likes of Mayank Agarwal and Rahul Tripathi have lacked the intent to play a big inning.

The fact of the matter remains that SRH has got some important batting reinforcements to its squad. Players like Aiden Markram, Harry Brook, and Rahul Tripathi are far too good to continue failing. The strategy of picking just three overseas players in the batting stint seems a bit silly when you have players like Jansen and Klaasen warming the bench.

A reshuffle is likely in the next match and we are also going to make our Dream11 team assuming the same.

Prabhsimran Singh and Shikhar Dhawan make a solid opening pair for PBKS, while the team has found a dependable player for the number-3 slot in the form of Bhanuka Rajapaksa. Jiteah Sharma, who has got good starts in both innings will be looking to score some big runs here. While Shahrukh Khan and Sikandar Raza haven’t been in the best of forms so far, the Kings do have Sam Curran batting lower down the order and he is capable of playing some big shots.

New ball bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Nathan Ellis have done a good job for the team with the latter picking up 4 wickets in the game against Rajasthan. The spin bowlers have struggled though, as Rahul Chahar and Sikandar Raza have picked up just 1 wicket each in the two matches.

Weather Report

The weather is expected to remain clear with temperatures of below 30 degrees Celsius.

Pitch Report

The surface at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad is excellent to bat on and has hosted some high-scoring encounters in the past seasons. There is some dry grass on the pitch which may make the odd ball move a bit but set batsmen will be able to play their shots easily. Teams batting first will be looking to score close to 200 runs here.

Notable stats

Harry Brook’s Explosive Batting

Within a short period, Harry Brook has built up a reputation for being an aggressive batsman. He has scored 2448 runs in 101 T20 games at an excellent strike rate of 147.11.

Team News

While Bhanuka Rajapaksa did hurt himself in the last match, he should be available for selection here.

Dream11 Prediction

We are backing the Punjab Kings to win here. Despite being the underdogs, they have performed well in both matches and rather than any individual performance, they have played well as a unit. On the other hand, the Sunrisers have failed to find a good rhythm.

Top Picks

Shikhar Dhawan: Shikhar Dhawan scored an unbeaten 86 in the last match and was in excellent touch. With a belter of a wicket on offer, we can expect more runs to flow from his bat.

Sam Curran: Sam Curran is a great all-rounder and someone who can be trusted with the ball in the death overs. He has picked up 159 wickets in his T20 career and has also scored 1854 runs at a strike rate of 132.33.

Aiden Markram: Markram has been in excellent form for his national team during the build-up to this tournament. He has a strike rate of 133.06 in T20s and also bowls quite regularly.
