The Rajasthan Royals have one of the strongest batting line-ups in this season of the IPL but the batsmen, who are used to fast-paced pitches since the start of the tournament, failed to read the slowness at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium and failed to chase a modest target of 155.

This is only the second match in Jaipur and so the surface could be different and better for batting for this match.

Nevertheless, the team will be looking to put the losses behind and will be hoping to get back to winning ways.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler are in good form at the top of the order and the middle order consisting of Sanju Samson, Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmeyer, and Dhruv Jurel is pretty strong too. Almost every single batter in the RR lineup has contributed to a win and will be full of confidence.

No team has hit more sixes, scored more runs in the powerplay, or been more aggressive in the middle stages of the inning than the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023.

The Royals have two world-class spinners in the form of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin, who will be looking to exploit the turn, while Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma will take up the seam duties. 

Just like their opponents for Thursday, the Chennai Super Kings have a strong batting line-up. As many as 3 batsmen scored half-centuries in CSK’s last fixture. Devon Conway has been excellent at the top of the order and has scored half-centuries in each of his last 4 matches.

He has an excellent opening partner in the form of Ruturaj Gaikwad, and together, they will be looking to give the team a good start here. Ajinkya Rahane is solid at the number 3 spot, while Shivam Dube, Ambati Rayudu, and MS Dhoni lend heft to the middle order.

It is remarkable to see the transformation in Rahane's game this season. Jaipur is a venue where he has played a lot of IPL cricket and has had a lot of success for the team as well. He could be someone to watch out for in this match as well.

Dube, who is a used a spin-hitter, will have his work cut out when taking on Chahal and Ashwin.

Tushar Deshpande has taken wickets with the new ball as well as at the death but is very expensive. He will be supported by Pathirana and Akash Singh at the other end. Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja are two quality spinners in the team, while Maheesh Theekshana has chipped in with 4 wickets.
