RCB vs GT Match Preview

In the last game, Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis once again proved why they are considered the most destructive opening pair in this year’s IPL. They put up their 3rd century stand of the season and became the first opening pair to score 1000+ runs in the history of the IPL.

Glenn Maxwell has been equally good at the number 3 slot as he has scored runs at a brisk pace. his six-hitting ability could be very crucial in this match.

The biggest drawback for the Royal Challengers has been the performance of its middle order. They haven’t had much of a chance to play thanks to the brilliant form of the top order, and whatever chances they have got, they have failed to perform.

Mahipal Lomror, Dinesh Kartik, and Anuj Rawat have all struggled with the bat. As the tournament enters a critical phase, they will need to step up their game. RCB has no option but to go for it and we expect the players to play with a lot of freedom.

Mohammed Siraj has bowled some excellent spells with the new ball as well as at the death and is the top wicket-taker for his team. He has received decent support from Wayne Parnell and Harshal Patel.

Karn Sharma and Michael Bracewell are the two spinners on the team and will play an important role here.

Shubhman Gill has, by far, been the most consistent performer with the bat this season. He is the top-scorer for the team with 576 runs and is firmly in the race for the Orange Cap. However, the other batsmen haven’t been that successful.

Wriddhiman Saha has failed to fire quite a few times, putting that extra bit of pressure on his opening partner. The same has been the case with the middle order. They have some quality players like Vijay Shankar, David Miller, and Sai Sudharsan, but their performance has been inconsistent.

To their advantage, the Titans have a lot of depth in their batting, thanks to Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan.

The one thing that GT could do in this match is simply overwhlm RCB with its six-hitting. Miller, Pandya, Tewatia, and Shankar are all capable of clearing the boundaries with ease.

Bowling has been one of the biggest strengths for the team this season. Rashid Khan and Mohammed Shami have been brilliant with the ball and are the two leading wicket-takers of the tournament with 23 wickets each.

They have been well supported by Mohit Sharma and Noor Ahmad, while Alzarri Joseph and Hardik Pandya have chipped in during the middle overs.

Weather Report

There is a forecast of rain here and we can expect some delays or interruptions.

Pitch Report

The pitch is flat and even-paced with good bounce. The ball comes nicely onto the bat. The bowlers will need to be very precise with their line and length, or else they will be taken for runs. The ground is hosting a match after a gap of more than 20 days so we can expect a fresh surface.

Notable stats

Mohammed Shami: T20 Enforcer

Shami has been consistent with the ball and is leading the race for the Purple Cap. He has taken 23 wickets at a brilliant bowling strike rate of 13.30 and has a miserly economy rate of 7.54 runs per over.

Team News

There are no updates regarding injuries from either side.

Dream11 Prediction

Both the teams have played well over the last couple of weeks, making this a difficult game to call. However, we are backing the Royal Challengers to win here. They have one of the strongest top orders in the league at the moment who can quickly take away the game from their opponents.

The bowling is in decent shape too. On the other hand, except for Shubhman Gill, the other batsmen have failed to perform consistently for the Titans.
