NEP vs UAE Match Preview

Kushal Burtel has been the mainstay of Nepal’s batting and will look to play another good inning here. He will partner with Aasif Sheikh at the top of the order. The middle order consists of some good batsmen like skipper Rohit Paudel and Bhim Sharki, both of whom have got some good starts but have failed to play consistently.

Nepal has a lot of depth in its batting, thanks to all-rounders Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh, and Aarif Sheikh, and will be banking on them to give the team a strong finish. The biggest letdown for Nepal has been the performance of its star spinner, Sandeep Lamichhane, who has picked up just 3 wickets in 4 matches.

He will look to turn things around as he partners with Lalit Rajbanshi. Gulsan Jha and Karan KC have done a decent job with the pace attack and will once again start with the new ball here.

Muhammad Waseem and Vriitya Aravind will be the key players for UAE in this match. They are among the most experienced batsmen on the team and will need to play a big inning here. The performance of Rohan Mustafa, Asif Sheikh, and Aryansh Sharma hasn’t been up to the mark so far, and that has been a big reason for UAE’s poor show.

All-rounders Basil Hameed and Ali Naseer have put up some resistance lower down the order but that hasn’t had any impact on the team’s fortunes. Junaid Siddiqui and Ali Naseer are the leading wicket-takers for UAE with 5 wickets each and will once again lead the pace attack along with Jawadullah and Sanchit Sharma.

The spin department is a bit lacking though as Aayan Khan and Karthik Meiyappan are both out of form.

Weather Report

The weather in Harare will remain clear with temperatures between 19-22 degrees Celsius.

Pitch Report

The pitch at the Takashinga Sports Club in Harare isn’t the easiest to bat on. The average first-inning score here is around 240. The seam bowlers can expect some movement early on and the batsmen will find themselves jabbing at the deliveries. However, the surface foes get a bit easy to bat as the match progresses.

Notable stats

Lalit Rajbanshi’s consistent bowling

Bowling under the shadows of Sandeep Lamichhane, Rajbanshi has bowled some excellent spells for Nepal. He has picked up 17 wickets in his last 8 matches and has an excellent economy rate of 3.10 runs per over.

Team News

There are no updates regarding injuries from either side.
