MLR vs SYD Match Preview
The Renegades have added Martin Guptill to their squad as batting reinforcement and that could not have come at a better time. He scored a duck in the previous match but is still a genuine force to be reckoned with in T20 cricket. The return of Shaun Marsh is also very welcome news for the Renegades that really need to find a way to be more consistent with the bat.
The bowling lineup for the Renegades is excellent but it has not been enough to get it wins so far. Akeal Hosein, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Kane Richardson, and Will Sutherland form a truly world-class bowling lineup.
Ben Dwarshius picked up four wickets for just 17 runs in the previous match against the Renegades. He was the best bowler for the Sydney Sixers by a large margin. Jackson Bird, Sean Abbott, and Hayden Kerr all had a great game as well.
Josh Philippe scored 55 valuable runs in the previous match, Moises Henriques scored runs in the match before last, and James Vince is also getting starts.
The Sydney Sixers are going to be hard to beat for sure.
Weather Report
There is no rain predicted in Geelong on match day. The temperatures have been inching towards the late twenties degrees centigrade, considered to be quite hot by Australian standards.
Pitch Report
The pitch is a bit slow and does not really favor the batters. We think something around 150-160 is going to be very hard to chase down.
Notable stats
Batting Strike Rate Worries for the Renegades
Not a single top-order batter or a finisher has a strike rate of more than 150 in BBL 12 so far. That is a worrying sign as it shows that the players are struggling and scared of taking risks early in their inning.
Team News
Finch suffered a serious blow to his finger and is doubtful of his participation in this match. The rest of the lineups should be same for the two teams.

Dream11 Prediction
We think the Sydney Sixers are the better T20 lineup when compared to the Melbourne Renegades. There is no doubt that the batting lineup of the Sixers is stronger while both teams have a strong bowling unit. The experience of playing together and better recent form tilts things in favor of the Sydney Sixers.
Top Picks
Akeal Hosein - 10 wickets in BBL 12 already, an excellent economy rate and a handy batting record makes Akeal Hosein one of the first picks in our Dream11 team for this contest.
Josh Philippe - With an aggressive fifty in his previous match, Philippe is now in good touch. he should be able to make another strong contribution in this match as well.
