JSKS vs PC Match Preview

The Joburg Super Kings have had the worst possible start to their campaign. It is the only team in the tournament that has yet to win a match and is firmly placed at the bottom of the table. With the halfway mark of the group stage approaching, the team will look to bounce back to remain in the race for the playoffs.

Barring Leus du Plooy, none of the batsmen have made an impact so far. Du Plooy scored a half-century in the last match and is the leading run-getter for the team with 120 runs. Faf du Plessis, who was among the top-scorers of the last season, has failed to get going, and so has his opening partner Reeza Hendricks.

However, both of them are quality batsmen and we expect them to bounce back soon. The middle order consists of Will Madsen and Donovan Ferreira, while all-rounders Moeen Ali and Romario Shepherd add depth to the batting.

The bowlers too have been a bit inconsistent. Lizaad Williams is the leading wicket-taker for the team with 6 wickets but has received very little support from the seamers at the other end. Nandre Burger, who made an impressive international debut, has struggled to replicate his success.

Imran Tahir has been quite economical but he too has failed to pick up wickets consistently. The Super Kings need to improve on all fronts if they want to turn things around.

The Pretoria Capitals registered their first win of the season on Thursday as they defeated the Durban Super Giants in a high-scoring encounter.

Will Jacks is in prime form and has already smashed a century and a half-century in his 3 innings. He has also done well with the ball, picking up 3 wickets. Jacks will open the batting alongside Phil Salt, who is another clean striker of the ball.

Together, the duo will hope to give the Capitals a brisk start. Rilee Rossouw and Colin Ingram will be the key batsmen in the middle order. However, more will be expected from the all-rounders James Neesham, Theunis de Bruyn, and Corbin Bosch.

Neesham has done a decent job with the ball, picking up 3 wickets. He will lead the attack with the new ball along with Eathan Bosch. Wayne Parnell and Hardus Viljoen bowled well in the last match to pick up 2 wickets each and the team will expect a similar spell from them.

Adil Rashid has achieved limited success in the form of wickets.

Weather Report

The weather in Johannesburg is expected to be clear with no forecast of rain. The temperatures will remain pleasant at around 20 degrees Celsius.

Pitch Report

The pitch at The Wanderers Stadium is excellent to bat on early on in the game. The team batting first can aim for a total of 200 or more as the ball comes nicely onto the bat. There is a good amount of pace and bounce on offer, allowing the batsmen to play their shots. However, the surface becomes two-paced in the second half, making life difficult for the batsmen. Batting first will be the way to go after winning the toss.

Dream11 Prediction

We are backing the Pretoria Capitals to win this match. While they haven’t been in the best of forms, the win against the high-flying Durban Super Giants on Thursday would have given a big boost to the team’s confidence. On the other hand, the Super Kings are in the midst of a terrible run and will find it difficult to bounce back.
