JSKS vs MCT Match Preview

Despite putting up a good show in the last season, the Super Kings were unlucky not to make it to the finals. Now, as Faf du Plessis reprises his role as the skipper, the Super Kings will look to make a bigger impact.

Faf du Plessis, Leus du Plooy, and Reeza Hendricks were three of the top-scoring batsmen for the Super Kings last season and will once again play an important role for the team. They will be joined by Wayne Madsen, Sibonelo Makhanya, and Ronan Hermann in the top and middle order.

The all-rounders in the squad include Moeen Ali, David Weise, and Romario Shepherd, all of whom are capable of scoring some big runs during the death overs. The Super Kings have one of the strongest bowling attacks in the league and will bank on it to deliver the goods in this match.

Gerald Coetzee and Nandre Burger were brilliant with the ball in their recent international assignments and will lead the pace attack here. They will be supported by Lizaad Williams and Sam Cook, while Imran Tahir, Aaron Phangiso, and Zahir Khan will feature in the spin attack.

The MI Cape Town will be very disappointed with the outcome of their season opener. They put up an excellent show with the bat, scoring 207 runs after being asked to bat first. The match was poised nicely and seemed to be heading for a close finish before rain played spoilsport, handing Durban a win by DLS.

Ryan Rickelton played a brilliant knock of 87 in the last match. He will open the batting along with Rassie van der Dussen. Both of them are explosive batsmen and can score quick runs during the Powerplay. The presence of Dewald Brevis and Connor Esterhuizen, as well as all-rounders Kieron Pollard, Liam Livingstone, and Sam Curran, provide plenty of depth to the batting.

Kagiso Rabada was brilliant during the recent Test series against India and once again the pick of the bowlers in this match with 2 wickets. However, the others, including Beuran Hendricks and Olly Stone will need to be more disciplined.

The spin department too seems a bit understaffed with Thomas Kaber being the only full-time spinner in the team.

Weather Report

There is a forecast for rain throughout the day in Johannesburg on Saturday. The weather will remain overcast and the temperature will remain around the 25-degree mark.

Pitch Report

The Wanderers Stadium generally offers a good batting track and we can expect the same in this match. The surface is hard, offering plenty of pace and bounce. The batsmen can play their shots with ease. The team batting first will look to get close to 200 runs on this pitch. That said, skilled bowlers will be able to extract some movement off the seam.

Since there is a forecast for rain, batting second might be a good option as the DLS usually gives the chasing team an advantage.

Dream11 Prediction

We are backing the Joburg Super Kings to win this match. As both teams have a strong batting line-up, the bowling might be the key differentiator in this match. The Super Kings have a well-balanced bowling unit with plenty of options in both, the seam and spin department. On the other hand, Cape Town seems heavily dependent on Kagiso Rabada to pick up wickets.
