GT vs SRH Match Preview

It was a rare batting failure of the top and middle order in their last match as the team was 8 wickets down with just 103 runs on the board. A late attack by Rashid Khan saved them the blushes and got them quite close to the target of 219, but they were unable to cross the line due to poor performance at the start of the inning.

Shubhman Gill remains the key batsman for the Gujarat Titans and he will be looking to give the team a good start here along with Wriddhiman Saha. Vijay Shankar has played a couple of good knocks this season. The middle-order does look a bit shaky as Hardik Pandya, David Miller, and Rahul Tewatia haven’t been very consistent.

With Rashid Khan and Mohammed Shami in particularly good form, the Titans have one of the most well-balanced bowling attacks in the league. Khan is currently leading the race for the Purple Cap with 23 wickets. Mohit Sharma and Noor Ahmad have been quite economical too.

The much-hyped IPL debut of Harry Brook has proved to be one of the biggest duds of the season, as barring a century against the KKR, he has failed to play any good inning. Anmolpreet Singh and Abhishek Sharma are once again likely to start the proceedings with the bat.

The latter has played a couple of decent knocks so far, while the former hasn’t got that many chances to showcase his talent. Aiden Markram showed good form in international cricket before the start of this season but has been unable to continue with it here. Mayank Agarwal too has lacked conviction.

The only saving grace, if one can call it that, has been the performance of Heinrich Klaasen, who has lived up to his reputation of being a brisk scorer. Also, Abdul Samad has played a couple of good cameos. Talking about the bowling, Mayank Markande has bowled well compared to the other bowlers and is the leading wicket-taker for the team.

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar has picked up some momentum in the last few matches. He will be supported by Fazalhaq Farooqi and T Natarajan in the seam department.

Weather Report

The weather will be warm with temperatures between 33 to 38 degrees Celsius.

Pitch Report

The pitch at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is pretty dry and good to bat on. We have seen some high-scoring games here and can expect a similar encounter here. That said, both, the seamers as well as the spinners, can get some wickets if they bowl a good line and length. The surface does tend to get slower as the match progresses and we might see some turn too.

Notable stats

Mohammad Shami: Leading From the Front

Mohammed Shami is having an excellent outing so far this season and has picked up 19 wickets. He has been quite economical too, giving away just 7.74 runs per over, and has an excellent bowling strike rate of 14.84.

Team News

There are no updates regarding injuries from either side.

Dream11 Prediction

We are backing the Gujarat Titans to win here. They have been far more consistent this season when compared to their opponents. The team has plenty of depth in their batting and some excellent bowling options too. On the other hand, SRH has struggled throughout the season and we expect their woes to continue.

Top Picks

Heinrich Klaasen: Klaasen is the top run-getter for the SRH this season despite making a somewhat late entry to the squad. He has scored a total of 262 runs at an average of 43.67 and a strike rate of 180.68.

Rashid Khan: Rashid Khan has been phenomenal with the ball this season and is the top wicket-taker of the tournament with 23 wickets. His performance with the bat in the last match also shows his all-round capabilities.

Subhuman Gill: Shubhman Gill has been the mainstay of the Gujarat Titans batting line-up and is also their highest run-scorer of the season. He has an average of 43.18 and has scored 4 half-centuries in 12 innings.
