CSK vs GT Match Preview

Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad have been one of the most consistent opening pairs of this season and CSJK will hope to get yet another good start from them. The middle order is quite strong too as Shivam Dube and Ajinkya Rahane have displayed some excellent batting this season.

While Ambati Rayudu hasn’t been in the best of forms, Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, and MS Dhoni add plenty of depth to the batting. Talking about the bowling, Tushar Deshpande is the leading wicket-taker for CSK and will likely open the bowling here along with Deepak Chahar. Ravindra Jadeja and Maheesh Theekshana will be the two spinners who we will see in action during the middle overs.

However, it is Matheesha Pathirana who will hold the key for CSK, especially in the death overs. He is quite economical and can take some quick wickets. Over and above this, it will be quite interesting to see how MS Dhoni utilizes his assets as he tries to lift the trophy for a record-equalling 5th time.

After receiving a setback in Qualifier 1, the Titans came back strongly in Qualifier 2 and defeated the mighty Mumbai Indians by a whopping 62 runs. It was yet again a batting masterclass by Subhuman Gill, who slammed his 3rd century this season and led his team to a win.

The Gujarat Titans will be banking on him to play another big inning here. Wriddhiman Saha’s struggles at the top of the order continue and he will be hoping to get back in form here. The Titans have a pretty strong middle order, consisting of players like Hardik Pandya, Sai Sudharsan, Vijay Shankar, and David Miller. All of them have played a couple of good innings so far and can be devastating on their day.

Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan add depth to the batting. The Gujarat Titans’ bowling unit is undoubtedly the best one around. Mohammed Shami, Rashid Khan, and Mohit Sharma are the top 3 wicket-takers for this season and will give the CSK batting a tough time in the middle.

Noor Ahmad has been excellent in the middle overs. Overall, the Titans seem to have struck a perfect balance of players in their squad.

Weather Report

The weather is expected to remain warm and humid and we may see some drizzling.

Pitch Report

The Narendra Modi Stadium has produced some high-scoring encounters this season and we expect it to be no different for this match too. The surface is flat and has a good amount of bounce and the batsmen will enjoy playing their shots here. There is little help for the spinners here but the seamers will be able to extract some movement off the pitch.

Notable stats

Ravindra Jadeja’s All-round performance

Jadeja has been an indispensable part of CSK for many years now. This season too, he has contributed with both, the bat as well as the ball, scoring 175 runs and picking up 19 wickets.

Dream11 Prediction

We are backing the Gujarat Titans to win here. They have been very consistent throughout this tournament and a big win against the Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 should give them plenty of confidence. Shubhman Gill is in phenomenal form for them and the bowling too is in excellent shape.

The fact that they have defeated CSK thrice in 4 encounters so far will also make them fancy their chances.

Top Picks

Shubhman Gill: Gill is in sublime form this season and is the highest run-getter with 851 runs. He has scored 3 centuries in his last 4 innings and is batting at an average of 69.79 and a strike rate of 156.43.
