The Zimbabwe team has done a fabulous job in the competition. It has won all their 4 contests in the league stages and they are going into this match with a huge 304-run victory against the United States of America. The Zimbabweans will be keen to keep their winning momentum going to extend their record in the competition. One advantage for the team is that they are playing at home and the skipper Craig Ervine will be looking to take advantage of knowing the conditions. The Zimbabwe team played their last game against the USA.

Batting first, the Zimbabwe batters went on a rampage and destroyed the USA bowling attack to score 408 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. This score was made possible thanks to a fabulous innings of Sean Williams who hammered 174 runs from 101 balls for Zimbabwe. To make matters worse for the USA team, the Zimbabwe bowlers were right on the money, bowling out the opposition for a poor score of 104 runs. Zimbabwe ended up winning the game by a massive margin of 304 runs.

Apart from Williams, some other batters also contributed to the Zimbabwe total. Joylord Gumbie scored 78 runs while Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl also contributed 48 and 47 runs respectively. These batters took the Zimbabwe score past the 400-run mark. The USA team was never allowed to settle down and all the Zimbabwean bowlers were among wickets. Richard Ngarava and Sikandar Raza picked up 2 wickets each. Abhishek Paradkar was the top run-getter for USA with 24 runs and Jessy Singh scored 21 runs. These were the only notable contributions from USA batters.

Oman

The Oman team played their last match against Scotland. In the 16th game of the competition, the Scotland team batted first, scoring 320 runs from their quota of 50 overs. The Oman outfit in their reply managed a score of 244 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their quota of overs. Brandon McMullen from Scotland was named player of the match for his hundred. He scored 136 runs from 121 balls and also was among wickets picking up one wicket for 15 runs. He picked up a couple of catches as well. Bilal Khan was the pick of the bowlers for Oman picking up a fifer for 55 runs from his ten overs.

Fayyaz Butt also picked up a couple of wickets for 68 runs from his quota of 10 overs. The only other successful bowler for Oman was Jay Odedra who picked up a solitary wicket from his 5 overs. Many Oman batsmen got a start during their reply. But none of them could take the starts forward and convert it into a big score. The top run-getter for Oman was Naseem Khushi. The wicketkeeper-batsman hit an excellent 69 from 53 balls with 3 sixes and 7 fours. The only partnership of substance came in for the seventh wicket from Naseem Khushi and Shoaib Khan who contributed 36 runs.

The Oman innings ran into troubled waters right from the start. They were quickly in trouble during their chase and were down to 4 for 72. This loss of regular wickets continued as they were further reduced to 120 for 6 before the first real bit of resistance came in from the Oman batters. But it was already too late for them. The Oman bowlers will have to be on their toes in this game, as the Zimbabwean team is in terrific form with the bat. Their frontline bowlers Fayyaz Butt and Bilal Khan will need to strike early.
