Ireland will visit the West Indies for a three-game ODI series, followed by a three-game T20 series.

The West Indies is coming off a bad series loss to England in an ODI series, in which they lost all three games. Ireland is also coming off a three-game series loss to Pakistan.

West Indies Women vs. Ireland Women will be played at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, St Lucia, on June 26th. Don't forget to check these betting apps for making bets on the go.

WIW vs IREW Team Previews

West Indies Women

The West Indies has put together another strong squad for these matchups, but it’s fair to say that the team is ready to win after the poor effort against England.

Hayley Matthews will be the most important batter, as she’s incredibly experienced after her 73 innings for the team, with an average of 26.97 and total runs of 1,915. She’s scored 204 runs in her last 10 ODI matches, which could be better, but she should be able to handle the Irish bowlers. Stafanie Taylor is another well-known name and is in form, with a 27.80 average in her last 7 matches.

Matthews is a talented allrounder who is eager to impress with the ball, too, and we’re a fan of her 15 wickets in her last 10 matches. It might be that she’s more striking as a bowler than batter here. Chinelle Henry will provide solid help and has been trending at the right time, with 13 wickets in her last 10 matches.

West Indies Women Playing 11

Hayley Matthews, Zaida James, Stafanie Taylor, Rashada Williams, Shemaine Campbelle, Aaliyah Alleyne, Chinelle Henry, Afy Fletcher, Qiana Joseph, Cherry Ann Fraser, Shamilia Connell.

Ireland Women

As the home team, there’s a lot in favour for the West Indies. They know the pitches and conditions better than anyone, and Ireland will certainly feel like visitors when arriving from such a non-tropical country!

Ireland was beaten fair and square by the West Indies quite recently, in the Women’s T20 World Cup, although it was incredibly close and decided by one ball remaining.

The batters to watch will certainly be Gaby Lewis (285 runs in her last 10 ODI matches), who is looking great recently and averaging 28.50 runs per game. Likewise, Leah Paul is bound to bat well, as she’s picked up 270 runs in her last 10 matches. Neither has batted well in recent T20 games, so hopefully things are different in the upcoming ODI matches.

There aren’t a tonne of bowlers who could trouble the experienced West Indies batters, but Cara Murray (8 wickets in her last 9 matches) and Arlene Kelly (7 wickets in her last 8 matches) will be the players that Ireland will rely on. Pacer Kelly is the one who is on the rise, as she had a good ending to the T20 World Cup and has a great ODI Economy Rate of 4.25.

Ireland Women Playing 11

Leah Paul, Gaby Lewis, Orla Prendergast, Laura Delany, Amy Hunter, Eimear Richardson, Mary Waldron, Arlene Kelly, Sophie MacMahon, Ava Canning, Cara Murray.

WIW vs IREW Toss Prediction

For ODI games, bowling first is still the preferred option, as the team batting second has won 16 out of 27 games. If the West Indies win the toss, they should certainly bowl first.

Pitch and Conditions

The first hour or so for this pitch tends to assist fast bowlers, as the ball finds a lot of bounce and movement early on. Batters can get to grips with things a bit later, but it’ll be tough for visitors to bat first.

WIW vs IREW Betting Tips

The 10Cric odds will make it enticing to put a bet on Ireland, but we’d suggest not wasting your money. Playing on the home soil of the West Indies team will be very difficult for Ireland, and the team overall just hasn’t played that well in ODI or T20 formats.

West Indies haven’t been great exactly themselves, but they are more likely to pull their act together against a side like Ireland and on home pitches. Plus, the Windies have won the last four matchups against Ireland in one-day games, and it’s never, ever been close at all. The return isn’t great, but we trust the Windies to get this victory.

Stafanie Taylor is very experienced and is reliable in ODI games. She's totalled 5,367 runs for her career, but more importantly, is that she's batting well right now and is averaging 27.80 in her last 7 matches. The odds are worth it for a good batter.

    Ireland Top Batter: Gaby Lewis

The odds are actually pretty good for the No.1 batter, as we're not sure who else could lead the team apart from Lewis. She has 285 runs in her last 10 ODI matches and is recently averaging 28.50 runs per game. We think she's in form and is one of the only few that could trouble the West Indies bowlers.
