New York Strikers

The New York Strikers started with a loss in the opening fixture but have since managed to turn things around by winning two consecutive matches. As a result, they have climbed up to the 4th spot on the table.

Muhammad Waseem is pretty consistent at the top of the order and is the leading run-scorer for the team with 90 runs. He will open the batting with Rahmanullah Gurbaz and will look to score quickly in the Powerplay. The middle order consists of Kusal Perera and Asif Ali, while all-rounders Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine, and Odean Smith bring up the rear.

The Strikers will pin high hopes on Pollard, who is one of the most explosive batsmen in the shortest format and can quickly take the game away from the opposition. Chamika Karunaratne and Jawadullah have picked up 10 wickets between them and are likely to start the proceedings with the new ball.

However, the other bowlers haven’t been that consistent. Akeal Hosein has picked up 2 wickets in 3 matches, while Sunil Narine has just 1. 

Delhi Bulls

The Delhi Bulls had an excellent start to the season as they won their first 3 matches on the trot. However, they did falter in their latest encounter against the Morrisville Samp Army on Sunday, losing the match by 4 wickets. Nevertheless, they are still at the top of the table thanks to an excellent NRR.

The Bulls have a strong batting line-up at their disposal and will once again depend on that to give the team a strong base. Captain Rovman Powell has led his team from the front and is the top-scorer with 122 runs. He will be the key player for his team during the middle overs.

Johnson Charles and Quinton de Kock will look to give the team a brisk start. Barring his half-century in the opening fixture, de Kock has looked a bit rusty and will need to play better. There are some clean strikers in the middle order, including James Vince, Rilee Rossouw, and Ravi Bopara.

The seam attack has been one of the highlights of the Bulls’ performance. Fazalhaq Farooqi is the leading wicket-taker with 6 wickets, while Naveen Ul-Haq, Dwayne Bravo, and Richard Gleeson have picked up 13 wickets between them.

The spin department does look quite thin though.
