Netherlands

The Netherlands lost their opening fixture, played against Zimbabwe, by 6 wickets and are currently at the bottom of the points table. However, the team will be looking to take some positives from that match and put up a better performance this time.

Vikramjit Singh and Max O’Dowd were excellent as an opening pair as they put up a 120-run partnership at almost a run a ball. Both went on to score individual half-centuries and will be hoping to put up a similar performance here. Skipper Scott Edwards played well too, scoring 83 runs off just 72 deliveries, and played a vital role in helping the Netherlands cross the 300-run mark.

The other middle-order batsmen will need to step up here. Wesley Barresi, Bas de Leede, and Teja Nidamanuru all departed for single-digit scores. The biggest area which needs improvement however is the bowling. The Netherlands was unable to defend 315 runs and allowed Zimbabwe to achieve the target rather easily.

Logan van Beeke and Bas de Leede, who are among Netherlands’ most experienced seamers will need to bowl a good spell early on. Shariz Ahmed will lead the spin attack with Aryan Dutt, while Clayton Floyd and Saqib Zulfiqar will chip in during the middle overs. 

USA

The USA were completely dominated by the opposition in the two matches they have played so far. After losing their opening fixture against West Indies, they were defeated by Nepal in the next match. Another loss here and they will most certainly be out of the race for the Super Six.

Openers Steven Taylor and Sushant Modani will be looking to give the team a good start here. Modani played well in the last match, scoring 42 runs, and will be hoping to continue with his good form here. Saiteja Mukkamalla, Aaron Jones, and Nosthush Kenjige have failed to get going so far and will need to play better here if the USA wants to keep itself alive in the competition.

Gajendra Singh and Shayan Jahangir have done much of the heavy lifting in the middle order, with each scoring a century, and the team will once again depend on them to play well here. The seam attack will be led by Saurabh Netravalkar and Kyle Philip, while Steven Taylor will spearhead the spin attack along with Nisarg Patel and Kenjige.
