Mitchell (383) and Croft (285) are without a doubt the two players holding Lancashire in check. However, Croft hasn’t played in the last two games but we hope he returns soon, as he scored a whopping 101 runs in a recent victory.
Mitchell is just tremendously reliable, which is precisely what the squad needs at this particular moment. His 47.87 average is exceptional, and before his rather rare duck against Worcestershire, he had scored 141 runs in three games.
Buttler has put in a commendable effort for the side, scoring 198 runs in just seven innings, however, Phil Salt's batting has left us a little underwhelmed. With only 134 runs in nine innings and a top score of 34, Salt looks bad and is way below expectations for an opening batter.
With an amazing performance of 14/303 (7.60 ER) over 11 innings, Luke Wood has shown to be the team's most dependable bowler. Even if it might be unexpected to see him take 3/11 in one game and 0/29 in another, he is still a player you want on your squad.
Mitchell is demonstrating his value as a bowler and batter, as seen by his outstanding bowling statistics of 9/203 so far and an incredible 3/9 in just double overs versus Worcestershire.

Ali (303) and Reece (258) are performing respectable enough, but you’d hope for a bit more from Guest, with only 158 runs for the season. Derbyshire needs far more support for Madsen, especially if he’s not batting well.
Derbyshire’s bowlers have been doing their part to help the team stay competitive, it should be said. Chappell (19/318) and Khan (16/306) have been taking wickets at a rapid rate, but also managing to not give up a whole heap of runs. Keep an eye on Scrimshaw, as he’s on 15/314 and was excellent against Yorkshire with 2/8 in only two overs.

It's a bit unusual to select Mitchell for best batter and bowler, but the odds are just too good to ignore. Furthermore, Mitchell is the second-best bowler on the team, with stats of 9/203 for the season. He's taken 3/9 and 2/25 in recent games, so it's not impossible that he'll do something similar.
The odds for Madsen probably aren't worth it as these are low, but Reece is a good option. He made a top score of 58 recently, and has a total of 263 for the season. He's made three half-centuries this season, so he can have another great game if Madsen falls early.
