The first game played by England in the warm-up to the World Cup was washed away due to rain. This game had to be abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain. This is the second game of the warm-up matches for England. It is a good opportunity for the England team management to test the squad for the World Cup. England has done a fair job in their last few one-international games. This series of good performances started with their wins in the Asian series when they beat some of the better teams in the one-day format.

England has some of the better batters in world cricket playing near the top of the order and in the middle order. Johny Bairstow will likely open the innings for England together with Dawid Malan. The batters that will be in charge of the middle order are Joe Root and Harry Brook. England boasts of some of the better all-rounders in the one-day format of the game. Sam Curran, David Willey, and Moeen Ali are all some of the leading all-rounders in the English one-day outfit.

Sam Curran is an established batter in the English middle order. This fact has been observed in some of the earlier games. The English bowling is not as strong as their batting line-up however, they do have some of the quality bowlers in the team. Jofra Archer is one of the leading bowlers for England but he will miss the competition due to an injury. He will be replaced by Gus Atkinson in the World Cup. Atkinson did a fair job for England against New Zealand. Some other high-quality bowlers in the English team are Mark Wood and Reece Topley.   

Bangladesh

Bangladesh surprised many people in their first warm-up game against Sri Lanka. They beat one of the better-ranked teams in the World Cup, Sri Lanka by a decisive margin. However, they are up against a better opposition in this match in the form of England. A full match is expected despite this being a monsoon season in India. Three out of the 5 warm-up games played in India have been affected by rain. Bangladesh did not do too well against New Zealand in one of the recently concluded series. They ended up losing the one-day international series by a margin of 2-0. 

Bangladesh has managed to win just a single game out of the last 5 one-day international games they have played. However, they did a good job in the first warm-up match. They succeeded in winning the game by a big margin of 7 wickets. Bangladesh lost the toss and was asked to field first. The performance put forward by their bowling unit was below par. They ended up giving away 263 runs to Sri Lankan batters. But they did succeed in bowling out the entire Lankan team in 49.1 overs.

Bangladesh made use of as many as 7 bowlers in this game against Sri Lanka. Mahedi Hasan was the leading wicket-taker for Bangladesh picking up 3 wickets from 9 overs for 36 runs. Other bowlers such as Shoriful Islam, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nasum Ahmed, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib picked up a wicket apiece. Hasan Mahmud and Taskin Ahmed could not pick up any wickets. But the victory for Bangladesh in this warm-up game was possible due to their batting line-up. Bangladesh batters chased the target on a canter in 42 overs with all their top-order and middle-order batters contributing to the team's cause.
