Bangladesh Women

Bangladesh has played some excellent cricket in this series and as a result, they have managed to win their first-ever bilateral series against Pakistan in the shortest format.

The spinners, especially Nahida Akter, have put up a clinical performance so far to keep the Pakistan batting in check. Akter, who bowled a record-breaking spell in the opening fixture, followed up with a 2-wicket haul on Friday.

She now has 7 wickets in 2 matches and is the leading wicket-taker of the tournament.

She has been well-supported by Rabeya Khan and Fahima Khatun. Coming to the batting, Murshida Khatun and Shamima Sultana looked in fine form in the last match as they added 34 runs for the opening wicket. Murshida Khatun is the top scorer for Bangladesh in this series.

The middle order hasn’t been in the best of forms as the hosts lost the next 3 wickets in quick succession. Shorna Akter, who is the youngest member of the squad, played a defiant knock of 27 runs to guide her team to a match-winning total. 

Pakistan Women

Pakistan will be very disappointed with its performance in the first two matches. The team will need to go back to the drawing board ahead of this contest and chalk out a better strategy.

The big guns of the team, including Sidra Ameen, Nida Dar, and Natalia Pervaiz are going through an extremely lean patch with the bat and that has cost the visiting team dearly in this series. Bismah Mahroof has been the only saving grace as she is the top run-getter of the tournament.

However, given the dismal performance of the batters around her, her knocks have counted for nothing so far. It is a similar story with the ball. Pakistan W have as many as 4 quality spinners on the team but none of them have been able to bowl a match-winning spell. The pace attack is paper-thin, with Diana Baig being the lone seamer in the team.
