Bangladesh

Bangladesh team played their last game against the Sri Lankan Board President's 11 during their tour of Sri Lanka in July this year. This game was played at the P Sara Oval ground in Colombo. The SL Board President's eleven batted first to raise a good total of 282 runs on the board for the loss of 8 wickets. Bangladesh managed to chase down this score in 48.1 overs to register a comfortable 5-wicket win over the president's eleven. The Bangla tigers reached the target with 11 balls to spare. 

The Bangladesh opening ball bowler Rubel Hossain picked up a couple of vital wickets during the Board President's innings. He removed Niroshan Dickwella and Oshada Fernando quickly with practically nothing on the board. The top bowlers for Bangladesh were Rubel Hossain and Soumya Sarkar who picked up a couple of wickets each for 31 and 29 runs from their 7 and 6 overs respectively. The other Bangladesh bowlers who were successful during the Sri Lankan innings were Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, and Farhad Reza.

Almost all the Bangladesh batters contributed to the Bangla total. The top run-getter for them in this match was Mohammad Mithun who scored 91 runs from 100 balls with 11 fours and 1 six. The second-highest score recorded by a batsman during the Bangladesh innings was by Mushfiqur Rahim who hit 50 runs from 46 balls with 6 fours and 1 six. There were several other contributions made by players such as the skipper Tamim Iqbal who scored 37 runs and Mahmudullah who put together 33 runs from 37 balls with 3 fours.

Sri Lanka

The Sri Lankan team played their last warm-up game on 15th June in Bulawayo against the United States of America. The Sri Lankan team batted first to record a score of 392 runs for the loss of 5 wickets from their quota of 50 overs. The United States of America team got nowhere close to the target and was bundled out for 194 runs from 33.2 overs. Sri Lanka recorded a win by a handsome margin of 198 runs in the game. The Sri Lankan openers made a decent start to the innings with the openers putting together 39 runs for the first wicket.

But the real impetus to the Sri Lankan innings was provided by Dimuth Karunaratne and the Lankan wicketkeeper-batsman Kusal Mendis. Both of them hit hundreds and were involved in a 191-run partnership for the second wicket that laid the base for the Lankans to reach a massive total on the board. Karunaratne hit 111 runs from 100 balls with 15 boundaries while Kusal Mendis who is more of a big hitter scored 105 runs from 91 balls with 7 fours and 6 sixes. Charith Asalanka was also in good form hitting 62 from 37 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes.

Dasun Shanaka who led the Sri Lankan team in this game also hammered 61 runs towards the end of the innings from 30 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes. The United States of America's batting order ran into troubled waters immediately in their innings with the openers departing with just 10 runs on the board. Both of them fell to Rajitha. Matheesha Pathirana was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka though with 4 wickets from 6 overs for 23 runs. Wanindu Hasaranga and Kasun Rajitha also picked up 2 wickets each. Dushan Hemantha picked up the only other wicket to fall to the bowlers.
