Afghanistan U19

Afghanistan has lost both its matches played in this tournament so far and is sitting at the bottom of the points table. The team desperately needs to win here if it wants to qualify for the next stage.

The batting has been a big letdown for Afghanistan. The opening pair has failed to provide the team with a good start in both matches. Much was expected from Hassan Eisakhil, who is the son of veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi. But he hasn’t been able to get going in either of the matches.

Hamshid Zadran, who joined Eisakhil in the last match as an opener, got a decent start even as the wickets fell around him like pinballs. He, along with Sohail Khan Zurmati and Numan Shah will be the key batsmen for Afghanistan. In contrast, the bowlers have fared much better.

Khalil Ahmed is one of the leading wicket-takers of the tournament with 6 wickets, while Allah Ghaznafar bowled a brilliant spell of 3 wickets for just 29 runs and almost handed his team a win against New Zealand.

They have been well supported by Arab Gul. Bashir Ahmed will likely lead the attack with the new ball. 

Nepal U19

Just like their opponents, Nepal too is winless after playing 2 matches and will be fighting for survival.

Arjun Kumal is in good form at the top of the order as he scored a half-century in the match against New Zealand. The team will need him to play another big inning in this match. He is likely to be joined by Bipin Rawal as his opening partner.

The middle order consists of Aakash Tripathi, Dev Khanal, and Uttam Magar. However, none of them have been able to play a big inning so far despite getting some good starts. There are plenty of options for Nepal, especially when it comes to seam bowling.

Gulsan Jha will be the key bowler thanks to his international experience. He will be supported by Durgesh Gupta and Aakash Chand. Subash Bhandari will lead the spin attack and will be supported by Dipesh Kandel.
