ADSW vs HBHW Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Oct 27, 2023

Perhaps the Strikers should just play the Stars in every game? So far, both wins for Adelaide this season have come against the poor Melbourne team. The Strikers are 2-1 after a surprising 81-run loss to the Renegades, but things are looking better now for the current champions.

The Hurricanes, meanwhile, have lost twice in a row to the Scorchers, so Hobart would evidently love to play any other team than Perth right now.

Adelaide Strikers Women vs. Hobart Hurricanes Women will take place at the Allan Border Field, Brisbane, on October 27th. Keep an eye on all the latest betting odds to stay ahead of what's going on.

Adelaide Strikers Women

Despite two wins, it’s been a bit hard to trust any of the Strikers batters so far. Mack is certainly the one you’d like to put your faith in with 137 runs so far, but her 3-run effort in the loss to the Renegades is worrisome. We’re still waiting for a truly great performance from Wolvaardt, who has been solid with 63 runs but that’s far below what she’s capable of (there are times when 63 runs in a game is possible).

McGrath’s 75 runs is roughly what you’d want from her, but keep an eye on Patterson batting at the fourth spot, who is starting to come alive with a good 27-run showing after two slow games.

For the bowlers, Schutt (5/72) and Wellington (4/48) are still the most dependable, but Mushangwe is beginning to make a name for herself and is a good betting idea. It’s surprising why McGrath has only bowled 4.3 overs in three games, as she’s usually one of the better bowlers out there, so she is a bad bet as she’s barely playing.

Hobart Hurricanes Women

With two straight losses, things won’t get any easier for the Hurricanes when they face the Strikers. Hobart has lost twice in a row to Perth without much of a fight, so this upcoming Adelaide game will be a real test of strength.

Opening batter Lee has been the most disappointing, with a duck in her first game and only 5 runs in the second. Bryony Smith, the Hurricanes’ other opener, has only added 8 total runs. Graham isn’t much better with 10 total runs, although the only bright spot is captain Villani, who missed the first game but added 39 runs in the recent loss.

While the lack of runs is a concern, the lack of wickets taken is another big worry. Hobart is really struggling to put pressure on opposing batters and is just giving away too many easy shots. Strano and Graham are the only ones to have 2 total wickets each, but new recruit Ismail has been substandard with 1/69.

ADSW vs HBHW Toss Prediction

Bowling first is certainly the favoured option here, as 14 teams have won when choosing this selection in the WBBL, as opposed to 8 wins when batting first. 134 runs is a typical score for this field.

Pitch and Conditions

It appears as if the Allan Border field is a great venue for pace bowlers in the first innings, with considerable amounts of bounce and swing. Spinners can come into play in the later overs where some turn is available. The overall bounce is often erratic, which can confuse inexperienced batters.

ADSW vs HBHW Betting Tips

Although it might be tempting to choose the Hurricanes based on the Dafabet odds, it’s still a bad bet as we can’t trust Hobart at the moment. Although the Scorchers are a good team, we haven’t seen anything yet from the batters or bowlers that tells us they could defeat the Strikers. Mack is such a great batter for Adelaide, and Wolvaardt will surely pick up the runs soon enough. We also think that Schutt and Wellington will prove too much for the majority of the Hurricanes batters.

Bet on the Adelaide Strikers to win.

It's a bit surprising that Mack still has better odds than Wolvaardt and McGrath! But this simply means now is a good time to bet on Mack, as there's a good money reward, and she's playing well with 137 runs from 3 games. She's more fiery and powerful than any other batter on the roster.

There are a few options here, with Mack, Wolvaardt, and even Villani all contenders to make a 50. Patterson has also been close to a 50, and the WBBL has never been more explosive.

Right now, we trust Mack and Wolvaardt (Strikers) to put together a strong opening partnership more than Hobart's Lee and Villani. Lee just hasn't look good at the start of this season, and Villani is a bit unpredictable with her performances.
