Ellyse Perry has scored 145 runs this year at an average of 72.5. She has scored at least 25 runs in 2 of her last 3 innings, both being half-centuries. She has an average of 32.00 against the UP Warriorz and has scored 2 half-centuries in her 4 innings against them. We are, therefore, expecting her to play well yet again.
Georgia Wareham is the leading wicket-taker of the tournament with 7 wickets. She has picked up at least 2 wickets in each of her last two outings. Given her good form, we are backing her to bowl another good spell.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore will look to get back to winning ways as they take on the UP Warriorz in match number 9 of the ongoing Women’s Premier League. The two teams will clash on Monday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
The two teams have faced each other in 4 matches to date. The Royal Challengers have won 3 of those games while the Warriorz have won once.
This match can be watched live on the Jiostar App, Star Sports Network, and Sports 18 Network.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore started off their title defense in style, winning their first two matches. They faced their first defeat of the season on Friday, losing out to the Mumbai Indians in a thrilling encounter. Nevertheless, they remain at the top of the points table and will hope to extend their lead.
The Royal Challengers boast of a strong batting unit that is headlined by Smriti Mandhana and Danni Wyatt-Hodge. Mandhana has played well during the Powerplay and will be the key batter for Bangalore if they want a good start. Wyatt-Hodge hasn’t been consistent but it is just a matter of time before she gets going.
Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh have played some good knocks in the middle order. Perry has been particularly impressive, scoring two half-centuries, and is the leading run-scorer for the team. They will have the support of Raghvi Bist, Kanika Ahuja‌, and Georgia Wareham.
Wareham has bowled well, picking up 7 wickets, and is the leading wicket-taker of the tournament. She will be joined by Ekta Bisht in the spin department. The pace department will be led by Kim Garth and Renuka Singh Thakur.
After suffering a couple of losses at the start of the season, the UP Warriorz managed to turn things around on Saturday as they defeated the Delhi Capitals by 33 runs. As a result, they have climbed up to the 4th place on the points table.
The UP Warriorz’s batting has been rather inconsistent this season and that is one of the main causes of the team’s poor performance. Kiran Navgire and Vrinda Dinesh will need to give the team a strong start if the Warriorz wants to post a big score.
The middle order consists of Deepti Sharma, Tahlia McGrath, and Uma Chetry, all of whom have struggled to score runs. Chinelle Henry played a blazing knock of 62 runs in just 23 balls on Saturday to take her team to a winning total. She could be the perfect finisher for the Warriorz going ahead in the tournament. The bowlers have performed relatively better.
Grace Harris and Sophie Ecclestone make up a strong spin attack and have picked up 9 wickets between them. Kranti Goud will likely lead the attack with the new ball. She picked up 4 wickets in her previous outing and will be joined by Chinelle Henry and Tahlia McGrath.
7 of the last 10 WPL matches played here have been won while chasing. The team winning the toss has elected to bowl in each of the last 10 matches and we are expecting that trend to continue.
The pitch at Bangalore is usually firm and well-rolled. We expect that there will be some moisture in the surface early in the match. The quicker bowlers will get some help with the new ball but it gets easier for the batters as the match progresses. The average first-inning score here is around 155, but the team batting first will look to score at least 170 runs.
The weather will remain clear with temperatures of around 25 degrees.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore have been in good form this year and have done well to win two games so far. They have a well-balanced squad at their disposal with quality players who are capable of winning the match for them. While the UP Warriorz did win their latest fixture, they will find it difficult to put up a winning performance against such a quality side.
Bet on Royal Challengers Bangalore W to win.
