Travis Head hasn’t been in the best of forms in the last couple of games and has been dismissed for a duck twice in a row. On the other hand, both, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tom Kohler-Cadmore looked in good touch in the last couple of games. The high risk approach of the SRH openers makes them likely to lose a wicket early.
Natarajan is the leading wicket-taker for SRH this season. He has picked up 18 wickets so far. As the pitch at Chennai does help the quicker bowlers, we expect Natarajan to bowl another good spell. His ability nail the yorkers at the death also helps him pick wickets.
Parag is in excellent form this season. He is averaging 56.70 and has scored at least 23 runs in each of his last 5 innings.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Rajasthan Royals will fight for a place in the finals as they faceoff in Qualifier 2 on Friday. The winner of this match will face KKR in a title clash on Sunday.
There is little separating the two teams as out of the 19 matches played so far, RR has won 9, while SRH has won 10.
This match can be live-streamed on the Jio Cinema App or watched live on the Star Sports Network.
After losing Qualifier 1 in a disappointing manner, SRH will try to redeem itself as it gets a second chance.<br /> Much will depend on the opening pair of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma.
The duo has propelled the team to some massive totals this season but has been unable to do so in the last couple of games. Head has been dismissed for a duck in each of his last two outings and will hope to turn things around here. We don't think there is going to be any change in the approach of the SRH batters.
They will still come out hard and attack from the start as that is how they have had all their success so far.
The middle order has proved to be an Achilles heel for SRH as barring Heinrich Klaasen, none of them have been able to get going. Abdul Samad and Shahbaz Ahmed have been particularly disappointing as they have been unable to perform under pressure. Nitish Reddy has transformed into a somewhat dependable batter while Rahul Tripathi played a crucial knock in the previous match as well.
Coming to the bowling, T Natarajan has bowled consistently well and is the leading wicket-taker for the team. He will look for support from Pat Cummins and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. RR has a strong top order but it is one of the few sides that does not have a lot of depth.
Early wickets can help SRH exploit that possible weakness.
After facing 4 consecutive losses, the Royals brought out their A-game in the Eliminator to defeat a resurgent Royal Challengers Bangalore, and that too convincingly.
Avesh Khan and Trent Boult make up for a strong new-ball attack, while Sandeep Sharma has been excellent towards the death. Yuzvendra Chahal has bowled some brilliant spells in the middle overs and is also the leading wicket-taker for his team with 18 wickets. He has an experienced partner in the form of Ravichandran Ashwin who was brilliant in the previous match and ended up being the player of the match!
The bowling lineup looks well-settled and Sanju Samson's use of his resources must also be commended.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tom Kohler-Cadmore got the team off to a flyer in the last match, scoring 46 runs in under 6 overs. The loss of Jos Buttler is not easy to overcome but RR showed it will still take the aggressive option.
The middle order has two solid performers in the form of Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson. Parag is having a monster season and also played a match winning knock in the previous match. Samson may have had a quiet couple of games but you never want to count him out either.
With Shimron Hetmyer and Rovman Powell there to provide the muscle, RR will fancy itself with the bat against the SRH bowling attack for sure.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bowl first.
The Chepauk Stadium has produced some exciting encounters this season. The seamers will get some swing with the new ball and the batsmen will need to be careful while playing their shots in the Powerplay. Things settle down as the match progresses and the surface gets easier to bat on. A score of around 180-190 can be considered a competitive one, especially in a knockout match.
Dew will likely play a role in the second half. The weather is likely to be warm and humid with temperatures of around 32 degrees.
We are backing the Rajasthan Royals to win this match. While the Sunrisers have some brilliant individual players, they have often crumbled under pressure. On the other hand, the Royals have a well-balanced squad with players who have stepped up to the occasion.
Bet on the Rajasthan Royals to win.
