SYD vs MLR Match Preview

The Sydney Sixers are picking up momentum and would be very pleased that most of their leading batters now have some runs under their belt. On paper, the likes of Josh Philippe, James Vince, Moises Henriques, and Jordan Silk are a formidable lineup.

We have also seen Hayden Kerr make some valuable contributions to the scores. Sean Abbott has a happy knack for picking up wickets while Steve O Keefe is terrific with the new ball. Jackson Bird and Heyden Kerr add depth to the lineup that also has Izharulhaq Naveed and Dan Christian.

Akeal Hosein continues to be the player of BBl 12 as he took three more wickets in the previous match. His all-around performance has been commendable and we think he could be the player to watch out for in this contest as well.

Andre Russell, David Moody, and Tom Rogers all bowled brilliantly while Mujeeb ur Rahman is dependable as ever. This gives the Melbourne renegades a strong bowling lineup. The problem for them has been getting enough runs on the board. Andre Russell and Akeal Hosein have bailed them out on a couple of occasions, Aaron Finch has carried the side in one match but this is not something that will happen each time.

Weather Report

The conditions in Sydney are expected to be a bit overcast. There may be some swing on offer with the new ball.

Pitch Report

Australia has also been in the middle of a heat wave that could dry out the surface a bit making it suitable for the spinners as well. A score of around 150 should be one that is tough to chase down.

Notable stats

Akeal Hosein Making a Mark

Hosein has picked up 10 wickets in the 15 overs he has bowled so far. He is in terrific form and definitely one of the best foreign picks in BBL 12. In current form, he is a must in your Dream11 lineup as well.

Team News

Both teams may continue to play the same eleven and have no major injury concerns.

Dream11 Prediction

We think the Sydney Sixers have started to get back to their best. They are coming into this match on the back of two wins and seem to have a better-balanced side than the Melbourne Renegades. The Sixers should be able to edge this contest and that is why we are going to balance our Dream11 lineup a bit in their favor.

Top Picks

Hayden Kerr - A very useful all-round performer, Kerr has hit the most sixes for the Sydney Sixers so far and also picked up the second most wickets. Surprisingly low-owned too at this stage making him an even more attractive pick.

David Moody - He played his first match in BBL 12 for the Melbourne Renegades and ended up picking three wickets for just 16 runs. He is likely to get a game once more and may end up being a solid Dream11 pick.

Sean Abbott - There is just something about Abbott that seems to attract wickets to him! He may be expensive and we don't think he bowls especially well either but he is always right up there in the wickets column! He has the most wickets for the Sydney Sixers this season as well.
