SYD vs HBH Match Preview

Sydney Sixers have found batting quite hard in the matches that they have played so far. James Vince, their overseas gun batter, has failed and Aussie stalwarts like Josh Philippe, Moises Henriques, and Dan Christian have been disappointing as well.

Jordon Silk and Hayden Kerr are the only two batters that have shown some fight so far.

The talent of the players that we have mentioned is undeniable and a shift back to their home base may help them a bit. We think Vince and Philippe are both due for a big score. Jackson Bird and Sean Abbott are the two experienced bowlers in the lineup while Naveen ul Haq and Izharulhaq Naveed are the overseas bowlers that have impressed in the matches that they have played.

An improved batting performance from the Hobart Hurricanes helped them pull off a tight win against the Perth Scorchers in their previous match. Matthew Wade, Tim David, Shadab Khan, and Darcy Short all made a decent contribution.

The Hurricanes have the kind of power and depth that allows them to play without any fear. Expect more innings where a number of their players score at a quick strike rate but do not necessarily get big scores. Joel Paris went for a lot of runs in his three overs but the rest of the bowlers were in top form. Rilee Meredith, Shadab Khan, and Patrick Dooley were exceptional. They picked up wickets and kept the runs down.

Weather Report

The conditions in Sydney are expected to be a bit overcast. There is some rain around but not too much is forecast to fall on match day.

Pitch Report

The pitch will be flat and excellent for batting. We have seen scores of around 170 regularly at the SCG and that should not be different in this match either.

Notable stats

Tim David's Strong Start

Tim David has had an excellent start to BBl 12. He is currently scoring runs at an average of 70 and a strike rate of 155.56! He is someone to watch out for sure.

Both teams are likely to field an unchanged lineup.

Dream11 Prediction

We think the match is going to be a close one but the Hobart Hurricanes are likely to win on a surface that generally favors the batters.

Top Picks

James Vince - We have not seen the best of Vince so far but he certainly has the ability to light up the SCG with his batting. It is just a matter of getting a bit of luck at the start and then Vince could be right back in form.

Tim David - Perhaps the cleanest striker of the cricket ball right now, David is averaging 70 and striking the ball at a phenomenal strike rate. He is a must-have in your Dream11 team.
