SAC vs QSL Match Preview

South Australia has seen a couple of good individual performances but has failed to perform as a unit. Ben Manenti has been a standout player in the squad. He has scored 203 runs from 5 innings and also picked up 11 wickets. Except for Agar, Manenti, and Buckingham, the bowlers haven’t been able to put pressure on the batsmen.

Openers Henry Hunt and Jake Weatherald have given the team a couple of good starts, but the middle-order batsmen have failed to build upon them.

Queensland has lost just one match so far this season, against the defending champions Western Australia.

Opener Matt Renshaw scored his maiden double-hundred in first-class cricket but hasn’t been a consistent performer. The other batsmen for Queensland, Michael Neser, Usman Khwaja, Marnus Labuschagne, and Jimmy Peirson are in good touch.

Michael Neser has been one of the standout all-rounders in the tournament, scoring 235 runs and picking up 24 wickets. He has been supported well by Matt Steketee. They are the top two wicket-takers this season.

Weather Report

The weather is expected to be quite windy, with temperatures rarely crossing 20 degrees. The rains might play a spoilsport in the first couple of days but the skies are expected to clear up towards the final day.

Pitch Report

The pitch is excellent to bat on and is regarded to be one of the best batting surfaces in the country. The average first innings score here is close to 400, while that for the 2nd and 3rd innings is around 350. Bowlers will need at least 250 on the board to feel comfortable in the 4th innings.

Notable stats

Usman Khwaja’s Consistent Batting

While the Australian international hasn’t been able to score big runs so far this season he has still been pretty consistent with the bat. In the last 7 matches, he has scored 406 runs at an average of 40.6.

Gurinder Sandhu’s Economical Bowling

Sandhu has been one of the mainstays of Queensland bowling of late. The quick bowler has picked up 34 wickets in the last 9 matches at an economy of under 2.5, and a strike rate of 44.5.

Team News

There is no news regarding injuries from any of the squads. We are likely to see an unchanged eleven take on the field from both teams.

Dream11 Prediction

We are backing Queensland to win this match. The South Australian team looks rudderless at the moment and barring a few individuals, none of the players have been able to put their feet down. The Queensland batting line-up on the other hand looks well poised to exploit the flat batting surface at Adelaide.

Top Picks

Ben Manenti: Manenti has just made his first-class debut earlier this year, and has emerged to be a good asset for his team. In the 4 first-class matches that he has played so far, Manenti has scored 245 runs which include 2 half-centuries and has also picked up 16 wickets.

Marnus Labuschagne: The veteran all-rounder is an indispensable member of the Queensland team. His average of over 45 in first-class cricket makes him one of the most reliable number-3 batsmen on the team. He has also picked up 75 wickets in his career.

Michael Neser: Neser is enjoying a great outing this year. While being the top wicket-taker for Queensland, he has been excellent lower down the order and has already scored one century and a half-century so far.
