RSAW vs SLW Match Preview

The South African Women's team, led by Sune Luus has gone for a mixture of experienced as well as young players and will be looking to reap benefits from both worlds. While bowling has traditionally been the strong point for the South Africa Women, they have made quite a few changes in their squad to strengthen their batting as well.

Laura Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp will play at the top of the order, while Chloe Tryon and Shabnim Ismail will bring in their hard-hitting prowess lower down. Nadine de Klarke, Anneke Bosch, and Annerie Dercksen bring in their all-round abilities. Young spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba brings in an extra option for the captain to use during the middle overs, while Masabata Klaas and Ayabonga Khaka are likely to start with the new ball.

The Sri Lanka Women's team will be led by the experienced Chamari Athapaththu, who is also one of the best batters in the squad. She will be accompanied by Harshitha Samarawickrama at the top of the order. Samarawickrama has batted consistently well during her recent outings, including scoring a brilliant 81 runs against Thailand in Asia Cup.

The middle order will be strengthened by the presence of wicketkeeper Anushka Sanjeewani and all-rounders Kavisha Dilhari and Oshadi Ranasinghe. The team will however miss the services of Hasini Perera, who has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to an injury.

The two left-arm spinners, Sugandika Kumari and Inoka Ranaweera are likely to play an important role in the turning surfaces in South Africa

Weather Report

The weather is expected to be perfect for playing cricket with plenty of sunshine and temperatures hovering in the mid-20s.

Pitch Report

While the surface at the Newlands Stadium is good to bat on, it does tend to slow down and favor the spinners as the match progresses. The quicker bowlers are likely to struggle here. The average first-inning score here is around 140, which can be tricky to chase.

Notable stats
