RRR vs SSR Match Preview
Shamim Hossain, who was seen struggling to score runs at the start of the season seems to have hit some good form for the Riders as he scored a brilliant 71 of just 51 deliveries. Rony Talukdar, who has by far been the most consistent batsman in the side too played a handy knock as both batsmen put up a 61-run partnership as the Riders chased down a target of 171 with 4 wickets in hand.
In addition to Talukdar and Shamim, the Riders will bank on Mohammad Naim, Nurul Hasan, and all-rounder Mahedi Hasan to score runs here. Azmatullah Omarzai was the joint-leading wicket-taker for the Riders but had to depart for the upcoming PSL. He was replaced by Dasun Shanaka, who was quite impressive as he took 2 wickets in his first match of the season.
The Sylhet Strikers will once again depend on Shanto to give them a good start in this game. Towhid Hridoy too has been quite dependable and more will be expected from him. The middle order however looks a bit out of form as Mushfiqur Rahim, and Zakir Hasan have lacked consistency.
With Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir departing for the PSL, the bowling too appears a bit lacking for the Strikers, as Mashrafe Mortaza and Rubel Hossain have been quite expensive this season. Sri Lankan all-rounder Isuru Idana has made his way into the team and will need to perform right from the word go in his knockout fixture.
