PC vs PR Match Preview

Captain Theunis de Bruyn will be pretty happy with how his team has performed in the group stages. Will Jacks was excellent for the team at the top of the order during the first half of the season but had to depart for international duties.

However, his absence hasn’t left much of a dent in the Capitals’ batting performance as Phil Salt and Kusal Mendis seem to be peaking in form just at the right time. The latter scored a brilliant half-century in the previous game, where they faced the Paarl Royals themselves in the group stage.

Colin Ingram and James Neesham too were among the runs and that should give them a lot of confidence ahead of this match.

The Capitals have bowled well in most games, and the bowlers have played a vital part in their journey to the semi-finals. They have plenty of options in seam bowling as Anrich Nortje, Eathan Bosch, and James Neesham are all in good form.

Jos Buttler was once again in excellent form during the last match, scoring a brilliant 70 of just 45 deliveries. But that wasn’t nearly enough to achieve the target of 227 set by the Pretoria Capitals and the visitors ultimately fell short by 59 runs.

Jason Roy and David Miller have done a decent job so far but more will be expected from them if the team wants to make it to the Finals. The return of Eoin Morgan will however strengthen the middle order. The spinners, Bjorn Fortuin and Evan Jones have done an excellent job in the middle order, picking up a total of 25 wickets between them.

Weather Report

The weather however can play a spoilsport as it is expected to be overcast throughout the day with a good chance of rain.

Pitch Report

The surface at SuperSport Park in Centurion is good to bat on, giving the batsmen ample opportunities to score runs. However, the surface does deteriorate as the match progresses, giving the bowlers an advantage. The last two matches played here have seen first-inning scores of over 200 and we can expect to see more of the same here.

Notable stats

Kusal Mendis’ Consistent Batting

Kusal Mendis has done a good job for the Pretoria Capitals this season. In 5 innings, he has scored 195 runs at an average of 39.00 and a strike rate of 162.50.

Dream11 Prediction

We are backing the Pretoria Capitals to win this match. They have been much more consistent in their performance compared to their opponents, and come into this contest with a lot of confidence. Their batting line-up is in good shape and the bowlers too have done a good job. On the other hand, the Royals are overly dependent on a couple of players to do the job for them.
