MLSW vs MLRW Match Preview

Much of the limited success that the Stars have achieved can be attributed to Annabel Sutherland. She is the top scorer as well as the top wicket-taker for the Stars this season. Lauren Winfield-Hill has played some good knocks at the top of the order but has failed to garner support from the other batters.

The bowling has been a bit better for them, as Sasha Moloney, Sophie Day, and Kim Garth have all picked up wickets at regular intervals.

With just 3 matches to go for them, the Renegades have no way to reach the top 4 and will be looking for a consolation win against the arch-rivals. It is truly a time to introspect, as despite having some excellent all-rounders in the form of Sophie Molineux and Hayley Matthews, the team has failed to put up a good show.

Carly Leeson and Courtney Webb have been good lower down the order, but the top order has failed. Molineux has been at the forefront of the bowling attack and has received good support from Shabnim Ismail.

Weather Report

With rains and thunderstorms predicted in Melbourne throughout Sunday, we might see the game getting affected.

Pitch Report

The pitch at Junction Oval is good to bat on, thanks to its even and predictable bounce. The average first innings score here is around 140. However, the team batting first will need to score more than 160 to feel safe.

Notable stats

Annabel Sutherland's All-Round Performance

Annabel Sutherland has emerged to be one of the top all-rounders this season. In the last 10 matches, she has scored 213 runs with a strike rate of 114 and has also picked up 14 wickets.

Sasha Moloney's Economical Bowling

While the Stars’ bowling hasn’t been that great this season, Sasha Moloney has been quite tight with her bowling spells. She has picked up 10 wickets in the last 9 matches and has an economy rate of just 5.87, which is great in the T20 format.

Team News

There are no updates regarding injuries from either of the squads, and we can expect the same set of players who featured in the last game.

Dream11 Prediction

With both the teams having a poor run of form, this game is a difficult one to pick. However, we feel that the Melbourne Stars have an upper hand in this match, and will go on to win the game. The team has a couple of good all-rounders and batters at the top of the order, who can swing the match in their favor.

Top Picks

Sasha Moloney: She has been a standout in an otherwise mediocre bowling line-up of the Melbourne Stars. While being very economical by T20 standards, she also picks up wickets at regular intervals.

Sophie Molineux: Molineux hasn’t been in the best of forms this season, but that does not take away from the fact that she is one of the most important players of the Melbourne Renegades. Despite her team being out of the race for the knockout stage, she will be looking to make an impact in this game.

Shabnim Ismail: Despite being at the fag end of her career, Shabnim hasn’t lost her sting. The pitch at Junction Oval will give her the perfect opportunity to rattle the opposition batters.
